Mrs. Ivey

Rebekah Thomas Hroza became the bride of John Daniel Ivey May 20 at noon.

The Rev. Vernon Brown and the Rev. Lynwood Boyette officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Woodland United Methodist Church.

Thomas John Jr. and Marilynn Kornegay Hroza of Mount Olive are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Harold Kornegay of Albertson and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Hroza Sr. of Clearwater, Fla.

Gordon Rouse and Cindy K. Ivey of Mount Olive are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Kornegay and C.C. Ivey Jr. of Mount Olive.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an organza ballgown with cap sleeves and a dropped waist. It had a chapel train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of crystals and beads with a fingertip veil of illusion. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses, lilies, miniature calla lilies, stephanotis, lily of the valley and dendrobium orchids.

Sarah Katherine Hroza of Charlotte, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Abbie Caroline Ivey, sister of the groom; Karla Kornegay Grady, friend of the bride; and Karen Elizabeth Best, cousin of the groom.

Gordon Rouse Ivey was his son’s best man. Ushers were Major Foy Ivey, Douglas Grady and Evan Brock of Mount Olive.

Jenna Shae Grady, godchild of the couple, was flower girl.

Sandra Lee, Angie Kennedy and Beverly Lee directed the wedding. Presiding at the register were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kornegay. Nicole Lee distributed programs.

Kristin Butler was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jane Vernon, pianist, and Sarah Katherine Hroza, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Hilton Head and Charleston, S.C., the couple is residing in Mount Olive.

The bride attends Meredith college majoring in human communication and business management. She is a member of Lamda Pi Eta Honor Society.

The groom graduated from North Carolina Sate University Ag Institute with a degree in field crop technology. He is a member of the North Carolina Sate agricultural leadership program. He is self-employed as a farmer.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s family held a reception at Mount Olive College’s Murphy Center. Attendants were Carol Britt, Blair Heath, Anna Outlaw, Leah Patterson and Blair Walker. Jonathan Fonvielle, Thomas Fonvielle and Steven Best greeted guests.

C.C. Ivey Jr., Mr. and Mrs. John Fonvielle Jr., Thomas Fonvielle, Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Fonvielle III and Charles C. and Julie Ivey held a dinner at Southern Belle Restaurant.

Ladies of Bethel United Methodist Church held a shower.

Friends held a shower at Woodland United Methodist Church.

Jack and Hilda Alphin, Murray and Meredith McClenny, Heather Alphin, Scott Ingram and Lewis Alphin held a luncheon at the Country Squire Restaurant.

Allen and Diane Best held a dinner at their home.

Gay Sullivan, Brenda Cherry and Sannie Dean held a dinner.

Major and Paula held a dinner at their home.

Sarah Hroza held a lingerie shower.

Carol Britt, Anna Outlaw, Blair Heath, Blair Walker and Leah Patterson held a bachelorette party in Wilmington.

Sarah Hroza held a weekend party in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Bonnie Adams held a bridesmaids’ dinner at Change of Venue Cafe.
