Melinda Anderson and David Byrd exchanged vows Sunday, May 14, at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Willard Hardison officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Goldsboro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Donald Anderson Jr. and Melissa Wheeler Anderson of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Faye Wheeler, Donald Anderson Sr. and Ruby Medlin of Goldsboro, the late James Wheeler and the late Bobbie Anderson.

Parents of the groom are Dorothy Byrd and the late Frank Byrd of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of Walter and Chelie Sauls and Faison and Donnie Byrd.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal diamond white off-the-shoulder gown with pearl glass beads and a long train.

For her headpiece, she chose fingertip-length netting edged in white satin. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses with greenery mixed with pearls and satin ribbon.

Jessica Anderson of Goldsboro, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Debbie Norwood and Sandra Conner, aunts of the bride; Amanda Monroe, cousin of the bride; and Kasie Rousay, friend of the bride.

Fuzzy Ferrell was best man. Ushers were Bud Conner, uncle of the bride, and Keih Edward, cousin of the groom. Groomsmen were Tony Norwood and Ricky Wheeler, uncles of the bride, and Keith Edward and Henry Richardson, cousins of the groom.

Krystal Conner, cousin of the bride, assisted the bride with dressing.

Hannah Wolske was flower girl. Cody Wolske was ring bearer.

Shirley Hardison directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Casey Monroe, cousin of the bride. Barbara Naylor, aunt of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Patsy Gardner, pianist, and Delbert and Judy Edwards, prerecorded music.

The bride is a graduate of Spring Creek High School and Wayne Community College. She is self-employed at Denise’s Classy Cuts.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School, Universal Technical Institute of Houston with a GMASEP coordinator/instructor associate of occupational studies degree and Wayne Community College with an associate of applied science degree. He is employed at Wayne Community College.

Following the ceremony, a sit down reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Pam and Elizabeth McIntyre served the nine-tiered wedding cake decorated with a fountain and stairway. Winnie Lee Howell and Grace Edwards, aunts of the groom, and Diane Richardson, cousin of the groom, were servers. Helpers were Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Massengill and Julie, friends of the family, and cousins of the bride. Christopher Stevenson, Christy Stevenson and Kaden Cox, cousins of the bride, distributed bubbles and birdseed.

On May 13, Pam and Elizabeth McIntyre held a bridesmaids’ luncheon.

The bride’s sister and Amanda Monroe, cousin of the bride, held a dinner May 12.

On April 30, Goldsboro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church held a miscellaneous shower.

Debbie Norwood, aunt of the bride, held a lingerie party April 21 at her home.

On April 21, the bride’s father held a Mr. Fix It party.

Faye Wheeler, grandmother of the bride, held a pantry shower April 9 at her home.

On March 26, the bride’s parents held a miscellaneous shower at their home.

The groom’s family held a shower March 25 at Goldsboro Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the home of the couple. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
