Lewis - Davenport
Stephanie Irene Davenport and Gaston Mckee Lewis said their marriage vows April 22 at 5 p.m.
The Rev. George Stenhouse officiated at the single-ring ceremony at the home of the groom.
Parents of the bride are Greta Lucas Davenport of Goldsboro and the late Stephen Franklin Davenport. She is the granddaughter of the late L.B. and Irene Lucas and the late Rev. Frank and Bertha Davenport.
John D. Jr. and Jenny Bridgers Lewis of Goldsboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Paul Delmus and Jean Strickland Bridgers of Goldsboro and the late John D. Sr. and Carolyn Sten-house Lewis.
Given in marriage by her mother and brother, Michael Caine Davenport, and escorted by her brother, the bride wore an ivory silk halter dress with flowing ties that draped the open back. It had an empire waist and covered buttons in the back.
For her headpiece, she chose an antique pearl barrette in her hair. She carried a bouquet of calla lilies wrapped in ivory satin ribbons.
Sarah Coleman, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Jenny Caroline Lewis, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid.
John D. Lewis was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were John D. Lewis III and Paul Sencer Lewis, brothers of the groom.
Drew Davenport, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.
Martha Ann Korshun, friend of the bride, was flower girl.
Presiding at the register was Mimi Bridgers, friend of the bride.
A program of wedding music was provided by Tom Casey, pianist.
After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Greenville.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Wayne County Day School. She attends East Carolina University.
The groom graduated from Wayne County Day School in 2003. He attends East Carolina University.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the groom.
On April 29, friends of the couple held a pig picking at Live Oak Farm.
Paula Howell, aunt of the groom, and Ann Taylor, great-aunt of the groom, held a bridal brunch April 22 at Billie’s. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.
Delmus and Jean Bridgers, grandparents of the groom, and Jeannette Radford, friend of the groom, held a rehearsal dinner April 21 at Billie’s.
