Rebecca Lynne Mendenall of Pikeville and Kevin Wayne Lancaster of Pikeville were united in holy matrimony Jan. 7 at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Hunter Preston officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Nancy Lou Mendenall of Columbia, S.C. She is the granddaughter of the late Nicholas Peter and Mae Rose Weber of Berrien Springs, Mich., and the late Elownzo and Viola Elizabeth Mendenall of Bridgman, Mich.

Parents of the groom are Wade and Velma Dare Lancaster of Fremont. He is the grandson of the late George Thomas and Nola Mae Williamson of Fremont and the late Zeb Bryant and Penny Ailene Lancaster of Pikeville.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless satin white gown with a princess waistline and a coachman’s skirt with hand-sewn beading and satin-covered buttons that covered the back of the dress down the chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with a two-tiered satin-trimmed fingertip veil. She carried a clutch bouquet of white roses, yellow miniature calla lilies, white stargazer lilies, stephanotis and blue delphinium wrapped in ribbon accented with pearl head pins.

Jenny May-Ferguson was matron of honor. Liz Poole was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren Sapikowski, Lisa Whaley and Lindsey Whaley.

Wade Lancaster was best man. Ushers were Rob Mendenall and Gregg Mendenall. Groomsmen were Neil Tillman, Chris Starling, Mark Lassiter and Gary Whaley.

Chloe Sutton was flower girl. Zachary Mendenall was ring bearer.

Carla Bedford directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Chrissy May. Erin Acree and Jennifer Williamson distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Hope Lockamy, pianist; Karen Preston and Mike Acree, vocalists; and Jennifer Heim, violinist.

After a wedding cruise to San Juan, St. Maarten and St. Thomas, the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School. She attended High Point University and Wake Forest University School of Medicine’s physician assistant program. She is employed as a physician assistant with Western Wayne Medical Center.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1990. He is employed as a process engineering technician with Glaxo Smith Kline.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Goldsboro Country Club.
