WINTERVILLE — Lindsey Brooke Scarboro and Corey Todd Brown said their promises Saturday, Jan. 14, at 5:30 p.m.
Pastor Mike Williams officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Faith Assembly of God.
Mr. and Mrs. Luther Dennis Boykin of Kinston and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Morris Scarboro Sr. of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Peggy Bradshaw Wetherington and Ivor Dean Harmon of Goldsboro, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Speight Oakes Sr. of Snow Hill, Herbert Morris Scarboro of Statesville, the late Addie Rue Scarboro and the late Dewey Tyson Harmon.
The groom is the son of Edward Lerou Brown Jr. and Jan Johnson Brown of Rocky Mount. He is the grandson of the late John Clayton Johnson, the late Helen Dickens Johnson, Edward Lerou Brown Sr. of Scotland Neck and the late Ruth Whitaker Brown.
Given in marriage and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white strapless gown with layers of organza and satin at the waist and up the bodice and satin buttons down the back of the chapel train.
For her headpiece, she chose a veil of fingertip-length netting edged with white satin. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of vogue and Olivia roses, green hydrangea and white Eskimo roses accented with burgundy hypercerium berries interspersed with Italian ruscus and tied with satin ribbons and pearl pins.
Kelly Suzanne Langston of Goldsboro was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kellie Allen Brown of Kinston, Morgan Alexis Holloman of Raleigh, Regan Leigh Holloman, Stephanie Lynn Holloman and Paula Kennedy Sauls of Greenville, Emily Lanier Martin of Virginia Beach, Va., and Tracy Gray Taylor of Snow Hill.
Edward Lerou Brown Jr. was his son’s best man. Ushers were John Richard Allen and Blake Lee Dameron. Groomsmen were Clayton Edward Brown of Kinston, Christopher Allen Brown of Great Lakes, Ill., Conly Drew Belk of Rocky Mount, Robert Jarrett Rice of Richmond, Va., David Folger Watson of Kinston, Phillip Morris Scarboro Jr. of Pikeville and Ted Douglas Sauls of Greenville.
Kennedy Nicole Sauls was flower girl. Eli Thomas Harris was ring bearer.
Wanda Reub directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Ashley Gray Gower. Jenny O’Brian Boykin and Ashley Brooke Goff distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Debbie Allen, pianist; Beaty and Carrie Bass and Kellie Allen Brown, vocalists; and Rachel Harmatuk and Ashley Dyer, violinists.
After a wedding trip, the couple is residing in Winterville.
The bride is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in business management and East Carolina University with a master’s degree in business administration. She is employed as the executive director of Creative Living Center.
The groom graduated from Appalachian State University with a degree in recreation management. He is employed as an environmental services consultant with Piedmont Air Conditioning.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rock Springs Center.
A rehearsal dinner was held Jan. 13 at Rock Springs Center.
