RALEIGH — Rebekah Anne McRoy and Travis Langdon Williams were united in marriage Nov. 5 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Edward S. New officiated at the ceremony at Edenton Street United Methodist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. William David McRoy Jr. of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Larry Robert Worrell and Mr. and Mrs. William David McRoy Sr. of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Alton Williams of Wendell. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Thomas Williams of Norlina, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Allwin Mullen of Bunn, John Graham Lee of Raleigh and the late Juliette Lee.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of satin with an empire waistline. The fitted bodice was embellished with white beads and sequins. The A-line skirt flowed into a cathedral train highlighted with sequins and beads in a floral design.

For her headpiece, she chose a comb of rhinestones and pearls attached to a fingertip-length veil of silk enhanced with a beaded edge. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Kathryn Andrews McElveen of Buford, Ga., friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Nancy Carol Pugh of Charlotte, friend of the bride, was maid of honor.

William Alton Williams was his son’s best man. Brian Edwin Wright of Raleigh was the groomsman.

Casey Lynn Vickery, niece of the bride, was flower girl.

Presiding at the register was Sarah Catherine Edwards of Mount Olive, niece of the bride. Chelsea Elizabeth Vickery of Greenville, niece of the bride, and Jacob Matthew Vickery of Greenville, nephew of the bride, distributed programs.

Gerri Alise Edwards of Washington D.C., niece of the bride, was Scripture reader.

A program of wedding music was provided by David Witt, organist, and Leigh McRoy Edwards of Mount Olive, sister of the bride, and Anna Lauren Edwards of Mount Olive, niece of the bride, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple will reside in Raleigh.

The bride is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, Meredith College and North Carolina State University with a master of arts degree in instructional technology. She is employed by Wake County Public Schools as a technology resource teacher at North Ridge Elementary School.

The groom graduated from East Wake High School, Wake Technical Community College and East Carolina University with a master of arts degree in English. He is employed by Advacon as a technical writer and consultant.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church. Randy and Vickie Helms of Louisburg, uncle and aunt of the groom, greeted guests. Wynne Kemmeries and Suzanne Averett of Raleigh, friends of the couple, poured punch. Ginny Vickery and Leigh Edwards, sisters of the bride, served the wedding cake.

On Nov. 4, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Carver’s Creek Steakhouse.

Kathryn McElveen and Nancy Pugh held a bridal luncheon Nov. 4 at Chamomile Tea Room of Raleigh.

On Oct. 22, friends of the bride held a bachelorette party.

Friends of the groom held a bachelor party Oct. 22.

On Oct. 19, coworkers of the bride and Carol Willingham and Jane Queen held a shower at the home of Denise Kirkland.
