SMITHFIELD — Amy Beth Daughtry and Thomas Nicholas Goeken exchanged promises Saturday, Oct. 15, at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Richard J. Williams officiated at First Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Daughtry of Smithfield. She is the granddaughter of John Bullock Sr., the late Penny Bullock and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Daughtry of Smithfield.

Jayne Goeken and Mr. and Mrs. Al Goeken of Cary are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Catherine Kasten, the late Kenneth Kasten and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clement Goeken of Alton, Ill.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

Heather McLamb of Smithfield, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Alison Byrd of Smithfield, Laura Bateman of Washington D.C., Katie Collins of Kernersville, Angela Drum of Newton, Kelly Smith of Wendell and Erin Woody of New York, N.Y.

Albert Goeken of Cary was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Andy Bullins, Matthew Claxton, Ethan Elzen, Douglas Hautop and Stewart Todd of Charlotte. Christopher Goeken of Cary, brother of the groom, and Matthew Perry of Durham.

Hayden McLamb and Carter McLamb of Smithfield, nephews of the bride, were ring bearers and bell ringers.

Scripture reader was Wesley A. Roberson of Winston-Salem.

Lillian Holland of Horsepasture, Va., aunt of the bride, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Christy Berkau of Charlotte. Alice Jenkins and Emily Harris of Smithfield distributed attendants.

A program of wedding music was provided by Marshall Tyson of Clayton, organist; Andrea Eberhart, vocalist; and Spencer Braswell of Smithfield, trumpeter.

After a wedding trip to St. Thomas, the couple is residing in Charlotte.

The bride is a graduate of Appalachian State University. She is employed as a national account manager with Breville Electrics USA of Charlotte.

The groom graduated from Appalachian State University.He is employed as a senior financial analyst with ESPN Regional Television of Charlotte.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the Clayton Center. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Landis Bullock of Smithfield. Mr. and Mrs. John Bullock Jr. of Clayton, Sherran Brewer of Cary and Sara Davis of Bealeton, Va. Teresa Byrd of Smithfield was director.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Oct. 14, at the Steak Bistro of Clayton.
