GRANTHAM — Cristyl Dawn Herring and Victor Arnold Jones Jr. said their marriage vows Sept. 24 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Marty Gurganus officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents.

The bride is the daughter of Thomas Steele and Sara Stevens Herring of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Helen Thompson Stevens and Lewis McDonald Stevens of Goldsboro and the late Carol Thornton Herring and James Lamont Herring of Dudley.

Parents of the groom are Victor Arnold Sr. and Peggy Howell Jones of Pikeville. He is the grandson of W.D. and Mae Howell of Pikeville and Bernice and Robert Jones of Dudley.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin with a strapless sweetheart neckline. The fitted bodice was embellished with embroidery adorned with pearls and sequins. The back bodice closed with decorative buttons. The full skirt cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara accented with rhinestones and pearls attached to a fingertip-length veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses.

Tyler Herring, brother of the bride, was the groomsman.

Tore Sauls, niece of the groom, was flower girl.

Tracy Hales and Sue Hill directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was April Harrell, cousin of the bride. Carrie Herring, cousin of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Marcus Pennington, vocalist, and Gary and Tracy Hales, friends of the couple.

After a wedding cruise to Bermuda, the couple will reside in Pikeville.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2001 graduate of Mitchell’s Hair Styling Academy. She is self-employed at Ultimate Raaz Hair Styling Salon.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1989. He is employed as a plumber with B&M Plumbing.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a dinner reception at their home. Carolyn Stevens and Sandra Herring, aunts of the bride, poured punch and served the wedding cake. Donna Musgrave and Ashley Griffin, friends of the couple, assisted. Matthew and Melissa Cox, cousins of the bride, distributed bubbles.

On Sept. 12, co-workers of the bride held a floating miscellaneous bridal shower at Ultimate Raaz.

Sandra Herring, aunt of the bride, and Carrie Herring and April Harrell, cousins of the bride, held a floating miscellaneous bridal shower Aug. 7 at Grantham Woodman of the World building.
