APEX — Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Edwards Smith Sr. of Fremont announce the marriage of their son, Johnny Edwards Smith Jr., to Gwennita Rogers May 28.

The Rev. Charles R. Tyner Sr. officiated at the ceremony at White Oak Baptist Church.

Herman Rogers Sr. and the late Mary Rogers of Durham are parents of the bride.

The bride wore a champagne satin A-line full-length gown with a chapel train and a halter neckline with criss-crossing straps in the back. It was hand-embroidered and beaded with silver accents in the center of the motifs.

Linda Taylor was maid of honor. Raven Smith was the bridesmaid.

Kenneth Leach was best man. Larry H. Dixon Jr. was the groomsman. Ushers and attendants were Violet Harrington, Doris Daniels, Pamala Rogers, Kendra Leach, Archie Daniels and Timothy Howell.

Kelly Smith was flower girl. Johnny Edwards Smith III was ring bearer.

The couple is residing in Morrisville.

The bride is employed as a practice administrator with Cary Women’s Center.

The groom is employed as a computer operations specialist with SAS Institute of Cary.
