FUQUAY-VARINA — Rachel Ellen Lloyd of Fuquay-Varina became the wife of William Joshua Conlon July 9 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Jeff Jones, the Rev. Dann Patrick and the Rev. William Conlon officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are the Rev. Carlie and Margaret S. Lloyd of Madison, Wisc. She is the granddaughter of the late Edna Sutherland and Neil Sutherland of Madison Heights, Mich., and Arlene Mounts of Erwin, Tenn.

Parents of the groom are the Rev. William L. and Kathy F. Conlon of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Jessie Lou Hall of Goldsboro and Ellen M. Conlon of Yonkers, N.Y.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin empire-waisted gown with a chapel-length train accented by pearls and lace floral inlays.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara with a floral embellishment of crystals and a fingertip veil. She carried a clutch bouquet of white and lavender roses with lilac accents.

Rebekah Lloyd, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tabitha Groeneveld, sister of the groom; Jamie Conlon, sister-in-law of the groom; and Amy Porter and Dawn Phillips, friends of the bride.

Micah D. Conlon was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were John Groeneveld, brother-in-law of the groom; Stephen Lloyd and Timothy Lloyd, brothers of the bride; and Christian Powell, friend of the groom.

Tasa McGowan was the bride’s assistant.

Micah Blaise Conlon, nephew, was Bible charger.

Pam Smith directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Kimberly Thompson.

A program of wedding music was provided by Micah Conlon, guitarist and vocalist, and Stephen, Timothy and Rebekah Lloyd and the groom, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 2000 graduate of home school and a 2004 honor graduate of Southeastern Free Will Baptist College with a major in teacher education.

The groom graduated from Faith Christian Academy in 1994. He attended Mount Olive College and Wayne Community College. He is an American board opticians certified optician. He is employed as a lead lab tech with LensCrafters.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Tammy Hensley was director. Ann Sutherland, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake. Kelly Russell and Jessica Stephens, friends of the bide, poured punch.

Out-of-town guests were from Togo, West Africa, Madison, Wisc., Madison Heights, Mich., Erwin, Tenn., North Carolina and Virginia.

On July 8, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Fire Mountain Restaurant of Garner.

Tabitha Groeneveld, sister of the groom, and Jamie Conlon, sister-in-law of the groom, held a bridal shower July 5.

On May 29, Hilltop Free Will Baptist Hispanic Church held a household shower.

Hilltop Church ladies held a household shower May 22.

On May 18, Faith Free Will Baptist Church ladies held a household shower.
