SEVEN SPRINGS — Kyndra Deon Henderson and Allen Lee Boyette of Goldsboro said their wedding vows Saturday, July 23, at 3 p.m.
Bishop William Phillips, godfather of the bride, officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Best Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
Parents of the bride are Pamela Henderson and Gabriel Whitfield of Seven Springs and Arthur Henderson of Kinston. She is the granddaughter of Olene Sutton of Dudley, Mr. and Mrs. James Davis of Goldsboro, Mr. and Mrs. David James and the late Zelda Flanagan of Seven Springs.
The groom is the son of Annie Ruth Boyette of Seven Springs and Quincy Pigford of Kinston. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Boyette of Albertson and Deloise Pigford and the late Henry Pigford of Pink Hill.
Presented in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless A-line satin gown with a sequined and crystal beaded bodice with an asymmetrical inset draped rouched skirt edged in rhinestones. Rhinestone clusters complemented the semi-cathedral-length train. She also wore white Cinderella-style slippers accented with rhinestones, a beaded diamond-shaped necklace with crystal and rhinestones and diamond-shaped crystal and rhinestone earrings.
For her headpiece, she chose a lattice beaded and rhinestone tiara with a two-tiered corded edge veil scattered with rhinestones. She carried a clutch cluster bouquet of white roses, miniature white roses with a calla lily, stephanotis blossoms accented with bead pearls, camelia leaves, sweetheart rosebuds, baby’s breath and ivy tied with sheer white ribbon streamers.
Charmaine Lassiter of LaGrange, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Shonda Artis of Dudley, Shaneka Flanagan of Faison, Anita Farrior of Charlotte and Latoya Shine of Seven Springs, cousins of the bride, and Renita Allen of LaGrange and Wanda Reid of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.
Larry Parks of LaGrange was his cousin’s best man. Groomsmen were Thomas Best of Kenansville and Jim Graham of Goldsboro, friends of the groom, and Marquis Graham of Pink Hill, Jeffery Parks of Jason, Leonard Parks Jr. of Seven Springs and Michael Pigford of Kinston, cousins of the groom. Ushers were Cesear Boyette of Seven Springs, uncle of the groom; Tremaine Carraway of Goldsboro and Gabriel Hayes of Pocomoke, Md., brothers of the bride; James Flanagan of Seven Springs, uncle of the bride; and Clark Mills III of Dudley, cousin of the bride.
Aundanea and Tayala Laser of LaGrange, nieces of the bride, were junior bridesmaids. Damarian Henderson of Goldsboro, son of the bride, and Alvante Boyette of Mount Olive, son of the groom, were junior groomsmen.
Zaria Carraway of Goldsboro, Aniyah Hill and Samiya Hill of Charlotte, cousins of the bride, and Jessica Lofton of LaGrange, cousin of the groom, were flower girls. Kendrick McKnight of Goldsboro, son of the groom, was ring bearer.
Jhazmine Lassiter of LaGrange, niece of the bride, and Darhontae Henderson of Goldsboro, son of the bride, were bell ringers.
Aleesha Boyette, daughter of the couple, was the miniature bride. Mekhi Levins Williams of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was the miniature groom.
Comatha B. Johnson of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom, directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Chane Lynch of LaGrange and Akeshia Jones of Winston-Salem, cousins of the groom. Ashley Best of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom, distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was provided by Minister Tracey Lewis of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, organist and vocalist; and Travontae Lewis and Albert Williams of Goldsboro, Christopher Bowden of Seven Springs and Casey Henderson of Varnille, S.C., friends of the bride.
After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.
The bride is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College with an AA degree in early childhood education. She attends Mount Olive College for a bachelor of arts degree. She is employed as a More-at-Four pre-kindergarten teacher at We Are The World Day Care.
The groom graduated from East Duplin High School. He attends Wayne Community College’s transfer program.
Following the ceremony, a reception and dance were held at H.V. Brown Hall of the Dillard/Goldsboro Alumni Cultural Center. Comatha B. Johnson was coordinator. Iris Durham of Goldsboro, cousin of the groom, was the mistress of ceremonies. Angelia and Sharon Jones of Mount Olive, cousins of the groom, greeted guests. Katherine Igbokwe of Dudley, aunt of the bride, gave the welcome. Presiding at the buffet table were Stephanie Graham of Goldsboro, Lawanda Pickett of Dudley and Cathy Meredith of LaGrange, friends of the bride, and Denise Isler of LaGrange and Melody Pigford of Snow Hill, cousins of the groom. Juanita Johnson and Candance Reid of Dudley, friends of the bride, served the three-tiered wedding cake with five satellites, double stairway and a cascading water fountain adorned with ivy sprays and pink roses. Audrey King of Mount Olive, cousin of the groom, and Queen Smith of Seven Springs, aunt of the groom, attended the fountain. Presiding at the couple’s table was Latesha Levins of Goldsboro, friend of the bride. Presiding at the gift table were Delfry Williams of LaGrange, cousin of the groom, and Tammi Smith of Goldsboro, friend of the bride. Ruthie Packenham of Cary, cousin of the groom, said good-byes.
Out-of-town guests were from Chicago, Ill., Maryland, South Carolina, Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Roanoke Rapids, Raleigh, Cary and Bailey.
On July 22, the best man and groomsmen held a bachelor party at the Sheraton of Kinston.
The groom’s family held an after-rehearsal dinner at Best Chapel Church fellowship hall July 22. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
On July 21, Pamela Henderson and Charmaine Lassiter held a bridal luncheon at Outback.
The matron of honor and bridesmaids held an outing and bachelorette party July 1 in Winston-Salem.
On June 26, the groom’s mother and aunts held a miscellaneous bridal shower at Ola Mae’s Restaurant of Seven Springs.
Kay Cain held a day of pampering at Tip and Toes June 17.
On June 15, Latesha Levins and Stephanie Graham held a bridal luncheon at Chili’s.
The couple held an engagement dinner Jan. 22 at Logan’s.
