Parker - Ferrell
Lisa Faye Ferrell of Goldsboro and Jerry Daniel Parker II of Goldsboro were united in holy matrimony April 23 at 2 p.m.
Pastor Thomas McLendon officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Rosewood Church of God.
The bride is the daughter of the late Tommie T. Tucker and Betty H. Davis of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of the late Edwin and Martha Holmes of Mount Olive.
Jerry D. Parker of Wilmington is the father of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Joseph Penny and Irene Penny of Clayton and the late Wilson Parker and Flossie Parker of Smithfield.
Given in marriage and escorted by her brother, Bobby Edwards, the bride chose a formal gown of satin and sposabella lace. The fitted bodice was embellished with pearls and sequins centered with graduated pearl droplets. The sweetheart neckline was outlined in pearls and bugle beads. The tapered sleeves were enhanced with beaded lace cutouts that ended in cali points over the hands. The Basque waist was encircled with lace adorned in the back with lace and a butterfly bow with streamers. The full floor-length skirt and semi-cathedral train were flanked with beaded lace motifs and pearl garlands bordered with beaded sposabella lace.
For her headpiece, she chose a crown of bugle beads, sequins and graduated pearls with a fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses with pink azaleas, purple and blue hydrangeas, yellow daffodils and pink tiger lilies.
Trina R. Smith of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.
Jerry D. Parker was his son’s best man. Jamie Dawson of Goldsboro, friend of the groom, was the usher.
Bryce R. Edwards was ring bearer.
Tammy Keel directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Elisa Parker.
A program of wedding music was provided by Tommy Howell, pianist and vocalist.
After a wedding trip to Carolina Beach, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.
The bride is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School and Wayne Community College. She is employed as a nurse with Sunbridge Rehabilitation.
The groom graduated from Clayton High School. He is employed as a finish carpenter with Sloans Cabinet Shop.
Following the ceremony, the couple held a reception in the church reception hall. Debra Blackman served the wedding cake. Carol Carter poured punch. Barbara Blizzard was assistant.
On April 9, the bride’s family held a wedding shower in the church reception hall.
The couple held a rehearsal dinner.
