Jodie Leigh Best of Garner became the wife of Wilburn “Wib” Lonnie Owen of Oxford Dec. 29 at 7 p.m.
Pastor James Shelley officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Paul United Methodist Church.
Parents of the bride are Jerry and Joan Best of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Judith B. Krieger, the late Hubert J. “Bud” Krieger and the late Tom R. and Hazel Best of Goldsboro.
Parents of the groom are Tom and Margaret Owen of Salisbury. He is the grandson of the late Ernest E. and Addie Rice of Salisbury and the late Wilburn L. and Ruth Owen of Mt. Ulla.
A program of wedding music was provided by Jennifer Best of Miami, Fla., sister of the bride, violinist.
The couple is residing in Garner.
The bride is a graduate of Goldsboro High School, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Journalism and East Carolina University with a master’s degree in English/communications. She is employed as a public information officer with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
The groom graduated from West Rowan High School and North Carolina State University with a bachelor of science degree in forestry and a master of science degree in wildlife biology. He is employed as a section manager with the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a dinner at Goldsboro Country Club.
