Heather Nicole Whitfield and Jeremy Lee King were united in marriage, Saturday, Dec. 18, at 2 p.m.

Pastor Jim Turbyfill officiated at the ceremony at Jordan’s Chapel Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Charles Rayford Whitfield of Rosewood and Gail Mustian of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lasky Odom of Mount Olive and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Whitfield.

The groom is the son of the late Jack Porter King. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. King and the late Lynwood Head.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown accented with pearls and a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a shoulder-length veil with a rose-accented halo. She carried a red and white rose bouquet accented with red sweethearts.

Haley Fail, cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Karrie Whitfield, sister-in-law of the bride; Karla Darden, Holly Denning and Dana Barfield, friends of the couple; and Holly Gautier, cousin of the groom.

Chad Denning was his cousin’s best man. Groomsmen were Michael Darden and Aaron Gautier, friends of the couple; Jeremy Whitfield, brother of the bride; and Bryan King and Eric Honrine, cousins of the groom. Ushers were Matt Keen and Nick Hinson, friends of the groom, and Jonathan Adams, cousin of the groom.

Brooke Jackson, niece of the bride, was flower girl. Chance Whitfield, son of the bride, was ring bearer.

Karrie Whitfield, sister-in-law of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Nathan Fail, cousin of the bride, and Brittany Fields, friend of the couple. Ashley Casey and Kendall Odom, cousins of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Christy Watkins, pianist, and Frankie Woodard.

The couple is residing in Grantham.

The bride is a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is employed by Christian Care Academy III.

The groom graduated from Blue Ridge College. He is self-employed.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Debbie Fail, aunt of the bride, served the wedding cake. Robin Odom, aunt of the bride, poured punch.

On Dec. 11, the groom’s family held a wedding shower at the home of Melissa Jones, cousin of the groom.

The bride’s family held a wedding shower Nov. 21 at Manley Grove Pentecostal Church.
