WYE MILLS, Md. — Dana Michele Southerland of Annapolis, Md., and Matthew Montgomery Sarro of Annapolis were married Sept. 18 at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Charles Osberger officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Old Wye Mills Episcopal Church.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Danny Southerland of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Exum Scott of Kenly and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Southerland of Goldsboro.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Francesco Giusseppi Antonio Sarro III of Chester, Md. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sarro Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Knox Jr. of Glen Burnie, Md.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal off-the-shoulder ivory satin A-line beaded gown with a lace-embellished waistline.

For her headpiece, she chose a fingertip illusion veil. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white tulips.

Patrice Biagi Shelton of Annapolis, friend of the bride, and Ashley Langley Smith of Charlotte, college roommate of the bride, were matrons of honor. Meghan Claiborne Raffo of Virginia Beach, Va., friend of the bride, was the bridesmaid.

Matthew David Long of Annapolis, friend of the groom, and Christopher Scott Mergardt of New York City, N.Y., college roommate of the groom, were best men. Timothy James Ambrosino of Virginia Beach, friend, was the groomsman. Ushers were Scott Winfield Southerland, brother of the bride, and Andrew William Johns, Midshipman 2nd Class Christopher Joseph Biello and Midshipman 2nd Class Timothy Robert Jarratt of Annapolis.

Susan Marie Dwyer of Annapolis directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Nicole Stone Ridout of Apex, cousin of the bride.

Claire Victoria Ridout of Apex and Sarah Catherine Stone of Tallahassee, Fla., cousins of the bride, distributed programs. Greg Julian Cameron of Dayton, Ohio, friend of the groom, was lector.

A program of wedding music was provided by Amy Clithero of Annapolis, organist, and Kelsey Lynn Kocur of Annapolis, cousin of the groom, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Italy, the couple is residing in Annapolis.

The bride is a graduate of Wayne Country Day School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is employed as a sales representative with Idexx Laboratories.

The groom graduated from The Severn School and Franklin and Marshall College. He is co-owner and executive vice president of Bridgeborn.

Following the ceremony, a cocktail hour dinner reception and dance was held at the home of the groom’s parents. Colleen Kocur was director.

On Sept. 17, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Carroll’s Creek Restaurant of Annapolis.

The bride’s mother held a bridesmaids’ luncheon Sept. 17 at Reynold’s Tea Room. The bride chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

On Aug. 28, Patrice Shelton held a miscellaneous shower at her home.

Family and friends held a dance Aug. 7 at Walnut Creek Country Club.

On Aug. 7, a barbecue bash was held at LaGrange Garden Club.

Faye Garner, godmother of the bride, and Terri Thompson held a miscellaneous shower Aug. 7 at New Hope Friends Church family life center.

On July 24, Colleen Kocur and Susan Dwyer held a miscellaneous shower at the home of the groom’s parents.

Aunts of the bride held a miscellaneous shower June 19 at the home of the bride’s parents.

On April 17, the groom’s parents held an engagement party at their home.
