Alexander - Grady
Shanel Renee Grady and Gregory M. Alexander exchanged promises Sept. 4 at 5 p.m.
Pastor Alton A. Smith officiated at the double-ring ceremony at St. Mark Church of Christ.
Parents of the bride are Cephus and Beverly Grady Faison of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy Ryals Grady of Goldsboro and Willie B. Grady of New Bern.
Parents of the groom are Deborah Blakney Johnson of Goldsboro and Garren Alexander of Monroe. He is the grandson of the late Mamie Blakney and John Blakney of Monroe.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a sleeveless white satin gown with a tulle overlay. The bodice was embellished with embroidered sheer lace with detailing of sequins and pearls.
For her headpiece, she chose a headband of diamonds and pearls with a white tulle veil dipped in red. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
Rochelle Robinson was matron of honor. Kesha Grantham was maid of honor. Temekia Warren was the bridesmaid.
Garren Alexander was best man. Ushers were Isaiah Grantham, Ronald Uzzell, Marissa Lane and Brittany McNeil. Groomsmen were Dimarci Davis and Brent Alexander.
Zaire and Niaja Alexander and TaTianni Ramsey were flower girls. Makario Burden was ring bearer.
Shykol Burden was the junior bride. Makario Burden was the junior groom.
Viola Ryals Figueroa directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Joseph Ryals. Ronald Uzzell and Isaiah Grantham distributed programs.
TiAnni Wooten and Amer Wooten were carpet and broom carriers. Moses Ramsey was bell ringer.
Special helpers were Elsie Ryals, Paulette Taylor, Thelma Rogers, Moses Ramsey and Viola, Aaron and Puppy Figueroa.
A program of wedding music was provided by Patrick Atkinson, pianist and Anjanette Ramsey and Percy Royall, vocalists.
After a wedding trip, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
On Aug. 28, Kesha Grantham held a shower at China Garden.
Makario and Shykol Burden held a bride and groom luncheon.
Viola and A. Figueroa held a rehearsal dinner.
