PRINCETON — Kelly Evelyn Albertson and David Earl Dixon of Goldsboro were united in holy matrimony July 31 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. Dennis Pollock officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Riverside Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Robert and Donna Albertson of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Dan and Ruth Andrews of Goldsboro and Harold and Evelyn Albertson of North Charleston, S.C.

The groom is the son of Lee and Debbie Holbert of Mount Olive and Hubert and Barbara Dixon of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Frances Strickland of Mount Olive and Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Dixon of Dudley.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of white satin and crystal organza with a square neckline accented with spaghetti straps. The fitted bodice was embellished with Schiffli lace, pearls and bugle beads and ended in a drop waistline. The full skirt of crystal organza was adorned with beaded lace motifs scattered throughout and cascaded into a cathedral train trimmed with a satin ribbon.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of rhinestone and pearls that extended into a veil of silk illusion adorned with flower motifs accented with crystal fashioned with a penciled edge. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of peach, white, yellow and pink roses tied with white ribbon and pearls.

Leigh Albertson was maid of honor.

Michael Albertson was best man. Ushers were Robert Albertson Jr. and James Albertson, brothers of the bride.

Gloria Henderson directed the wedding. Presiding at the register was Melissa Albertson.

A program of wedding music was provided by Abegail Pollock, pianist; Tiffany Albertson, vocalist; and James Albertson.

After a wedding trip to Orlando, Fla., the couple is residing in Goldsboro. They will be stationed in El Paso, Texas.

The bride is a 2003 graduate of Southern Wayne High School.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 2001. He is serving in the Army.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the church. Gloria Henderson and Judy Griebenow, aunts of the bride, cut the wedding cake. Brenda Thompson, friend of the couple, poured punch. Celeste Henderson and Ruth Ann Byrd, cousins of the bride, J.W. and Cindy Creech, friends of the couple; Gloria Henderson and Judy Griedenow, aunts of the bride; and Brenda Thompson, friend of the bride; were servers. Michael Albertson, brother of the bride, gave the toast. Emily and Elizabeth Albertson, nieces of the bride, distributed wedding favors.

The bride’s mother and Ruth Andrews, grandmother of the bride, held a bridal shower July 17.

On June 26, Leigh Albertson, sister of the bride, held a lingerie shower.
