Genna Kay Chriscoe of Goldsboro became the wife of Brad Edward Gooding of Goldsboro Aug. 7 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Billy Toler officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Free Chapel Church Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

Benjamin Martin and Emily Sue Lawrence of Goldsboro and James Boyce and Debbie Chriscoe of Siler City are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Troy Franklin and Emma Lee Trotter of Robbins, Merolin Oliver and Shirley Ann Lawrence of Goldsboro and the late Pauline Chriscoe and Harold Chriscoe of Seagrove.

The groom is the son of Terri Lynn Gooding and Robert Edward and Livvy Gooding of Wilson. He is the grandson of Evelyn Ingram and Ed Gooding of Goldsboro, the late Tom Ingram and the late Hilda Gooding.

Given in marriage and escorted by her father and stepfather, the bride wore a white chiffon split-front empire A-line gown with beaded lace trim and a sweep train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara and veil. She carried an arrangement of white and pink roses.

Christina Lynn Heckmann was matron of honor. Amber Dawn Lawrence was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Stacy Lynn David and Amy Sharon Capps.

Robert Gooding was best man. Groomsmen were Robert Heckmann, David Massengill and Jason Capps.

LeAnne Marie Broadwater and Ashley Underwood were flower girls. Jeremy Ryan Thompson was ring bearer.

Connie Duncan directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Tiffany Gooding. Alexis Zwerling distributed programs.

Lynn and Melinda Thompson, uncle and aunt of the bride, were the meet-and-greet couple.

A program of wedding music was provided by Linda Jones, pianist, and Kimberly Ann Mezza, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to the coast, the couple will reside in Smithfield.

The bride is a 2002 honor graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Vocational Honor Society. She attended Wayne Community College. She will attend Johnston Community college for the medical assisting program. She is employed as a server with McCall’s Barbecue and Seafood.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1997. He attended Wayne Community College. He will attend the BLET program.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s mother and grandmother and Kim Mezza and Melinda Thompson held a reception in the church fellowship hall. Brandy Hughes, cousin of the bride, poured punch. Jennifer Hansley, cousin of the groom, cut the wedding cake. Lynn and Melinda Thompson were helpers.

On July 11, the groom’s family held a shower at Free Chapel Church.

The bride’s family held a shower July 10 in Siler City.

On June 27, the bride’s family held a shower at Trinity Baptist Church.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Pizza Inn.
