Williams - Kornegay
Natasha Nicole Kornegay of Cary and Walter Wilson Williams Jr. of Raleigh exchanged promises July 31 at 4 p.m.
Pastor Clarence Laney officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First African Baptist Church.
The bride is the daughter of Donald Ray Sr. and Jewel Kornegay of Mount Olive. She is the granddaughter of the late David and Inez Kornegay, Elnora Stewart and Granger Pearsall of Mount Olive.
Parents of the groom are Walter Sr. and Linda Williams of Warsaw. He is the grandson of James and Mamie Williams of Chinquapin and the late William and Martha Williams of Faison.
The bride was given in marriage and escorted by her father.
Satina Swain was matron of honor. Dasheik Smith was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Mary Jones, Nakita Stewart, Sarita Gerald, Walinda Batts, Kimberly Newkirk, Benita Williams and Tasha McLean.
Leon Williams was best man. Ushers were Demetrius Hardison, Ozzell Anderson Jr., George Sheddrick and Ryan Williams. Groomsmen were Donald Kornegay, Titus Kornegay, Cedrick Townsend, Jariel Tate, Tim Batts, Anthony Williams, Demon Highsmith and William Kirby.
Tyra Kornegay was the junior bridesmaid.
Mya Batts and Samari McLean were flower girls. Dontray Kornegay was ring bearer.
Deandria Williams directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Luwanda Kornegay.
DeAnte Williams was Bible carrier. Johnnie Swain Jr. was train bearer.
Hostesses were Reshana Dupree, Zakia Jones, Shannon Williams and Latoya Townsend.
A program of wedding music was provided by Lamont Hall, pianist; Lola Adingbade, vocalist; and Prinell Oliver.
The couple took a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Lane Tree Country Club.
On July 24, Leon Williams held a bachelor party in Raleigh.
Dasheik Smith, cousin of the bride, held a pamper-the-bride shower and bachelorette party July 24 in Raleigh.
On July 10, Satina Swain, aunt of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower.
The groom’s family held a gift card shower June 5 in Warsaw.
On March 20, the bride and her mother held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Supper Club of Raleigh.
A rehearsal dinner was held in the church fellowship hall.
