Tiffany Lynn Griffith and Joseph Weldon Franklin III pledged their promises June 5 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Larry Crane officiated at the single-ring ceremony at Pine Forest United Methodist Church.

Eric and Debbie Griffith of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Barbara Griffith of Yarmouth, James and Bessie Zwicki of Hiawatha, Iowa, and the late Robert E. Griffith.

The groom is the son of Joe W. Jr. and Betty Franklin of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of Helen B. Franklin of Goldsboro, the late Joe W. Franklin Sr., the late Joe Grantham and the late Nancy Grantham.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor-length gown with a chapel train of silk satin and English tulle. The satin strapless bodice was embellished with Schiffli embroidered motifs encrusted with pearls. The floor-length English tulle over satin skirt extended into a chapel train. Scattered beaded Schiffli lace motifs adorned the skirt and train. Garlands of scalloped lace bordered the hemline.

Kelsey Griffith, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Crocker, Melissa Smith, Melissa Pettus, Jessica Perkins and Carlyn Claiborne.

Joe W. Franklin Jr. was his son’s best man. Ushers were Matt Mitchell, Travis Mitchell, Drew Farmer and Justin DeMello. Groomsmen were Daniel Pettus, David Franklin, Michael Crocker, Caleb Griffith, Joey Bailey and Shane Ellis.

Blythe Brantley was flower girl. Colten and Patrick Gaskins were ring bearers.

Debbie Whaley directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Hannah Pettus and April Pfieffer. Emily Thompson and Holly Pfieffer distributed programs.

Gretta and Evelyn Hanks distributed party favors. Cameron Howell and Jesse Mae Williams distributed bubbles.

A program of wedding music was provided by Brad Collier, pianist; Walton and Robin Aycock, vocalists; and Chris Williams, guitarist.

After a wedding trip to Disney World and Atlantic Beach, the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride is a graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 2004 graduate of Wayne Community College’s medical assistant program. She is employed with Goldsboro Pediatrics.

The groom graduated from Rosewood High School in 1999. He attends Mount Olive College. He will attend Asbury Seminary of Kentucky in the fall of 2005. He is employed as youth pastor of Pine Forest United Methodist Church.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

On June 28, the Narrons, Sewells and Harrells held a welcome home party at the Sewell home.

A rehearsal dinner was held June 4 at the Steak Barn. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Melissa Pettus, Kelsey Griffith and Jessica Perkins held a lingerie shower May 27 at the Perkins home.

On May 25, Emily and Becky West and the Burtus Drive family held a shower at Billie’s Backstreet Restaurant.

Pine Forest Church held a shower April 18 at the church.

On April 17, Lisa Gaskins, Judy Tew and Angie Harris held a Pampered Chef shower at the Tew home.
