Carla Marie Westbrook and Trampas William Stafford of Goldsboro exchange wedding vows July 23 at 7 p.m.

The Rev. Paul Evans officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Southport Community Building overlooking the Cape Fear River.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lee Westbrook of Mount Olive are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman William King and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lenadrew Westbrook of Suttontown.

Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Thomas William Stafford of Dudley. He is the grandson of the late D.J. and Haddie Jones, the late Mildred Lawhorn Stafford and Wilbert Leon Stafford of Goldsboro.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an A-line gown with a band at the strapless neckline and a rounded waistline of sewn pearls and beads. A skirt in the front contrasted with a split chapel-length train with an inset of beaded organza layer. The bodice was designed with pearls.

For her headpiece, she chose a silver pearl and crystal tiara with a single-layered veil with satin piping. She carried a bouquet of white hydrangeas accented with candlelight satin ribbon.

Roxie Kemmerlin, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Maranda Johns of Boone, friend of the bride; Autumn Melson of Kitty Hawk, cousin of the bride; Hannah Westbrook of Mount Olive, sister of the bride, and Rhonda Westbrook of Raleigh, sister-in-law of the bride.

Thomas Stafford was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Travis Stafford of Dudley, brother of the groom; Johnny Lawhorn of Grantham, uncle of the groom; Micheal Odom of Mount Olive, friend of the groom; and Tim Westbrook of Raleigh, brother of the bride.

Laura Elizabeth Melson, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Jonathan Lawhorn, cousin of the groom, was ring bearer.

Presiding at the register were Cliff and Rhonda Greenup of Wilmington, cousins of the groom.

Michael Edward Melson Jr. of Kitty Hawk and Joshua King of Suttontown, cousins of the bride, distributed programs. Jordan Jones of Goldsboro and Brittany Jones of Pikeville, cousins of the groom, distributed fans.

A program of wedding music was provided by Allen O’Neal of Goldsboro, family friend of the bride, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1997 graduate of Southern Wayne High School and a 2001 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in child development and family studies. She is employed as a kindergarten teacher at Princeton School.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1995. He attended Wayne Community College. He is employed as a production coordinator with Bayer Biologicals of Clayton.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the community building reception hall.

On July 22, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Sandfiddler Restaurant of Southport.

Autumn Melson, cousin of the bride, held a bridal luncheon July 22 at Elijah’s of Wilmington.

July 15 through 18, friends of the groom held a bachelor weekend in South Beach, Fla.

Friends of the bride held a bachelorette weekend July 9 through 11 in Charleston, S.C.

On July 1, ladies of Thunderswamp Pentecostal Holiness Church held a bridal shower at the home of Beth Hill.

Kristi Kelley, Christy Shivar, Meredith Shivar and Cassie Williamson held a lingerie shower June 13 at the home of Charles and Susan Lasater of Mount Olive.

On June 6, family and friends of the groom held a bridal shower at the home of Johnny and Susie Lawhorn.

Tim and Rhonda Westbrook and Wayne, Nuri and Roxie Kemmerlin held an engagement party May 22 at the home of Joe and Terry Reed.

On May 18, co-workers of the bride held a recipe shower at Princeton School.

Family and friends of the bride held a bridal shower May 16 at the home of the bride’s parents.
