Mrs. Hite

Sheena Lynette Reid of Goldsboro and Derrick Walter Hite were united in matrimony July 3 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Tedaro Reid officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Alvester and Herelene Lewis and James E. Reid of Fremont are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Lula Smith of Fremont and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ben Reid Sr. of Goldsboro.

Parents of the groom are Walter and Madie Hite of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Lewis of Fremont and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Hite of Staten Island, N.Y.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her stepfather, the bride wore a satin bodice with beaded lace and scalloped edging. It had a tulle skirt with lace appliqués and pearl and diamond accents with a chapel-length train trimmed in diamonds and pearls.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered tiara accented in diamond and pearl rhinestones. She carried a clutch bouquet of yellow and peach roses.

Yolonda Newsome was matron of honor. Shonda Reid, twin sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kenya Yelverton, Rhonda Daniels, Sherri Smith, Yvette Smith, Shonette Harvey, Barbara Gibson, Gloria Williams and Lisa Lewis.

Dewayne Artis of Raleigh was best man. Ushers were Michael Artis and Ricky Reid. Groomsmen were Carlos Russell of Maryland, Carlo Cook, Michael Artis, Ricky Reid, Tavares Reid, Billy Artis, Danny Joyner and Corey Brown.

Mya and Victoria Reid were flower girls. Nicholas Reid-Hite was ring bearer.

Earl Moore directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Erica Reid. Brittany Wells and Drika Lewis distributed programs.

Jason Reid-Hite was broom carrier.

Special helpers were Ebony Washington, Glonisha Williams, Sharonda Burden, Ladonna Reid, Stephanie Smith and Tiffany Williams.

A program of wedding music was provided by Steve Lewis and Greg Lewis, pianists, and Miriam Lewis, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Virginia Beach, Va., the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She attended ECPI Computer Institute of Raleigh. She is employed as a resident assistant with Alterra Sterling House.

The groom graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1991 and DeVry Institute of Technology of New Jersey in 1994 with an associate degree in electronics technology. He is employed as a service technician with Coeco Office Systems of Rocky Mount.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church family life room. Frances Smith and Naomi Smith were servers. Francis Smith cut the wedding cake.

Out-of-town guests were from Staten Island, Capitol Heights, Md., Chesapeake, Va., and Colorado Springs, Colo.

On July 2, the bridesmaids held a bachelorette party at the home of the bride.

Friends of the groom held a bachelor weekend June 12 in Capitol Heights.

On June 12, the bridesmaids held a bridal shower.

A rehearsal dinner was held at Willow Run Clubhouse.
