WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Tomeko Michelle Moore of Greensboro and James Paul Moore of Greensboro were united in marriage June 19 at 5:30 p.m.
The Rev. Clyde Hanes officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Blockade Runner Resort.
The late Levarn Ford Moore and Clifford Moore Sr. of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Daisy Ford and Wallace Ford Sr. of Goldsboro.
Parents of the groom are Paul and Angelia Moore of Durham. He is the grandson of the late Lillie Truesdale and Walter and Ethel Moore of Durham.
Given in marriage by her father and Calvin Ford and escorted by Calvin Ford, the bride wore a strapless dress of white pearls and silver with a neckline that had a double band of embroidery with crystals and beads that led to floral detailing in the natural waistline. Appliqués created a faux Basque waist with a split front overskirt on a circular tulle ballgown skirt.
For her headpiece, she chose a rhinestone tiara with a two-tiered cathedral-length veil. She carried a floral bouquet of white and pink calla lilies accented with Boston fern and white and platinum ting.
Valerie Ford of Goldsboro was matron of honor. Denise Ramseur of Raleigh was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Angel Moore of Durham, sister of the groom; Deshunda Jones of Greensboro and Mshairi Evans of High Point, friends of the bride; and Keonda Burden of Goldsboro, Letitia Edwards of Virginia and Sheria Newkirk of Philadelphia, Pa., cousins of the bride.
Paul Council of Greensboro was best man. Kenneth Mims of Durham was the usher. Groomsmen were Clifford Moore Jr. of Greensboro, brother of the bride, and Dustin Marsh and Sam Dillard of Greensboro, Derrick Brown of Durham, Sean McNeil of Atlanta, Ga., and Reginald Valentine of Charlotte, friends of the groom.
Tyrisha Williams of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. Minek Ford of Goldsboro, cousin of the bride, was the junior groomsman.
Ayannah Ford and Daijhai Smith of Goldsboro were flower girls. Malik Keaton of Virginia was ring bearer.
Carol Wagner of Wrightsville Beach directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Allison Turner of Washington D.C. Lacashia Carroll of High Point distributed programs.
After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple is residing in Greensboro.
The bride is a graduate of Goldsboro High School and North Carolina A&T State University with a bachelor’s degree in arts and science. She is employed as executive director of programs at Envisions of Life.
The groom graduated from CE Jordan High School of Durham and North Carolina Central University with a bachelor’s degree in arts and science and is working toward a certificate of public instruction. He is employed as a basketball and football coach at Welborn Middle School and in public instruction with Guilford County Schools.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Lee ballroom at the resort. Tiffani Ford of Virginia and Kayla Woodard were bubble girls.
On June 19, a bridal luncheon was held at Oceanic Restaurant.
A rehearsal dinner was held June 28 at Oceanic Restaurant of Wrightsville Beach. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.
On June 12, a bridal shower was held in Greensboro.
The bridesmaids held a last-mourning-of-single-friend party June 5 at Homewood Suite of Greensboro.
On April 24, aunts of the bride held a bridal shower at the recreation center of Goldsboro.
