Frasier-Butler

Shirley Ann Butler of Goldsboro became the wife the Rev. Jerome Frasier of Goldsboro July 3 at 3 p.m.

The Rev. A.D. Brown and the Rev. Daran H. Mitchell officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Saint James A.M.E. Zion Church.

Parents of the bride are Johnnie Robert and Chanie Morgan Butler.

The Rev. Henry and Leah Frasier of Walthouville, Ga., are parents of the groom.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her son, David Lamont Butler, the bride wore a white matte satin off-the-shoulder gown accented with a scalloped neckline and beaded lace bell sleeves. The bodice and A-line split-front skirt were embellished with beaded Alencon lace appliqués. It was finished with a detachable cathedral-length train.

Juliette B. Makin of Arizona was matron of honor. Betty Holman of Raleigh was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Margaret Woolridge, Olive Cyrus and Regina Melvin.

The Rev. Theodore Woolridge was best man. Ushers were Titus Makin, brother-in-law of the bride, and Titus Makin Jr., nephew of the bride. Groomsmen were Marvin Frasier, brother of the groom; Roy Green, son of the groom; and Horace Jessup and Milton L. Simmons, friends of the couple.

Junior bridesmaids were Keaunna Carraway, Amber Woolridge and Ayliah Thomas.

Crystal D. Hine was flower girl. Rakiel Butler was ring bearer.

Sadie B. Simmons directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register were Keisha Hines and Erika Works. Titus Makin and Titus Makin Jr. distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by the Rev. Jerry Dortch, pianist; the Rev. Roosevelt Johnson, organist; Ronnie Frasier, vocalist; and Evelyn Mathunn.

After a wedding trip to the Poconos, Pa., the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a graduate of WWC. She attended Barton College. She is a member of the Wayne County Teacher Assistants Association. She is employed as a teacher assistant with Northwest Elementary School.

The groom graduated from Mount Olive College. He attends Shaw University Divinity School. He served in the military. He is a member of Trail Boss of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. He is employed as pastor at Harrison Creek A.M.E. Zion Church of White Oak.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Best Western. Rena Jessup was coordinator.

On June 25, Sandra E. Butler, aunt of the bride, and Olive Cyrus held a shower at Madison’s Restaurant.

Faculty and staff of Northwest Elementary School held a miscellaneous shower May 26.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at the home of the groom.
