Mr. and Mrs. Warren

Barbara Lee-Ann Thornton and Darrence Delroy Warren exchanged their marriage vows Saturday, May 8 at 1:30 p.m.

Jerry Rouse officiated at the double-ring ceremony at the Bethany House of Waynesborough Historical Village.

Earl F. Trogdon and Kathy E. Trogdon of Pikeville are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Garland and Doris Jones of Pikeville and George and Ruby Thornton of Pikeville.

The groom is the son of James N. Meeks and Rachel E. Warren of Grantham. He is the grandson of Esther Atkinson of Selma and the late Jason and Annie Mae Warren of Grantham.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown adorned with embroidery and beading. The A-line chapel-length gown had a halter neckline and a lace-up back.

For her headpiece, she chose a mother of pearl tiara attached to a single illusion fingertip veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses with purple tea rose accents.

Amanda Trogdon, sister of the bride, was maid of honor.

James M. Warren was his cousin’s best man.

Alie Thornton, daughter of the bride, was flower girl.

After a wedding trip to the coast, the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride attended Charles B. Aycock High School. She attends Wayne Community College. She is employed at Advantage Auto Parts.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1995. He attends Wilson Tech. He is employed by the city of Goldsboro.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the garden park of Waynesborough Village. Special helpers were Monica Eason, cousin of the bride, the bride’s mother and Norma Crooker and Lisa Parker.

On May 7, the family held a rehearsal dinner.
