FUQUAY-VARINA — Lesley Summer Lewis and Aaron Paul Ungerer of Wilson exchanged their marriage vows Saturday, June 5 at 2 p.m.

The Rev. Jeffrey B. Jones officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Larry W. Lewis of Willow Spring. She is the granddaughter of David L. and Doris Peele of Princeton, Geoffrey L. and Tiffany Pearce of Dudley and the late Thomas L. and Essie Lewis of Goldsboro.

The groom is the son of Bill Ungerer and Charann Cooley of Hot Springs, Ark.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin sleeveless gown. The neckline was trimmed with pearls. The bodice was embellished with appliqués of lace, sequins and pearls. The back was accentuated with bridal buttons the full length of the gown that flowed into a chapel train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of pearls and rhinestones with a tulle elbow-length veil. She carried a hand-tied clutch bouquet of pastel roses.

Kristin Lewis of Willow Spring, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Charity Davis of Princeton, cousin of the bride; Shannon Prewitt of Smithville, Miss., and Misty Smith of Raleigh, friends of the bride; Jenny Corbett of Wilson, friend of the couple; and Christiana Whitwell of Myakka City, Fla., sister of the groom.

Jason Cribbs of Wilson was his brother’s best man. Groomsmen were Bruce Whitwell of Wilson, brother-in-la of the groom; Enoch Rae of Waldorf, Md., and Daniel Bailey of Wilson, friends of the groom; Trent Lewis of Willow Spring, brother of the bride; and Hunter Davis of Princeton, cousin of the bride.

Megan Weldon and Jessica Ungerer of Hot Springs, sisters of the groom, were honorary bridesmaids.

Morgan Whitwell, niece of the groom, was flower girl. Thomas Whitwell, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Pam Smith of Fuquay-Varina, friend of the bride’s family, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the guest register and distributing programs were Mr. and Mrs. Sam Davis of Princeton, uncle and aunt of the bride.

Special helpers were Sera Huff of Willow Spring and Susan Jones of Hot Springs, friends of the bride’s family.

A program of wedding music was provided by Travis Moots of Fuquay-Varina, pianist; and Phillip Wall of Wilson and Selena Matthews of Fuquay-Varina, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple will reside in Wilson.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the church. Cornelia Brinkley of Newport, Katherine Sandy of Newton Grove, Mary Jo Young of Goldsboro and Elaine Bedford of Kenly, aunts of the bride, were servers.

On June 4, the groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner at Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.

The bride held a bridesmaids’ luncheon May 29 at Gold Leaf Tea Room of Fuquay-Varina. She chose this time to present gifts to her attendants.

Jason Cribbs held a groomsmen’s party May 22 at his home in Wilson.

On May 22, Diana Jayes and Scarlette Chappell held a shower luncheon at the Jayes home.

Kristin Lewis and Charity Davis held a lingerie luau May 8 at the home of the bride’s parents.

On April 24, Roxie Davis, Tiffany Pearce, Doris Peele, Cornelia Brinkley, Katherine Sandy, Mary Jo Young and Elaine Bedford held a miscellaneous shower at Faith Free Will Baptist Church fellowship hall.

Ladies of Hilltop Free Will Baptist Church held a miscellaneous bridal shower April 18 at the church.
