FORT FISHER — Erica Leora Jones of Wilmington and Scott Thomas Mele of Wilmington said their promises April 24 at 2 p.m.

Pastor Connie Garlick, aunt of the groom, officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Fort Fisher State Park.

Bryan and Kathy Jones of Faison are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of R.O. and Helen Jones of Faison, the late Herby Jones and the late Lorenzo and Thelma Pate.

Parents of the groom are Bill and Carol Mele of Mount Olive and Sunan Gaenjan of Tampa, Fla. He is the grandson of Daisy Mele of Norfolk, Va., the late Frank Mele, Caroline Wagner of Mount Olive, the late Clarence Wagner and Sawai and Sunmeana Gaenjan of Kumpang, Thailand.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white satin off the shoulder with cap sleeves. The top was fitted, corseted and embroidered with pearls and flowers. It had a full-length detachable train.

For her headpiece, he chose a fingertip-length veil attached to a silver tiara accented with pearls and jewels.

Hayley Jones, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Gena Tucker of Wilmington, friend of the bride, and Jennifer Andrews of Wilmington, friend of the couple.

Bill Mele was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Frank Mele of Tampa, brother of the groom, and Christopher Fernandez and Phil Petrides of Wilmington, friends of the couple.

Amy Price, cousin of the groom, and Lana McGuff, niece of the groom, were flower girls.

Amanda Patterson directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Elizabeth Price, cousin of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Bryan DeBose, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to Negril, Jamaica, the couple is residing in Wilmington.

The bride is a 1999 graduate of North Duplin High School. She attended East Carolina University. She is employed as a sales representative with Alltel Communications.

The groom graduated from Southern Wayne High School in 1996. He is employed as a sales representative with Alltel Communications.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Beach House Bar and Grill at Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Area.

A rehearsal dinner was held April 23 at the Beach House Bar and Grill.

On April 23, the bride held a bridesmaids’ lunch.

Christopher Fernandez held a day at the gym and a club evening April 17.

On April 17, Gena Tucker and Jennifer Andrews held a day at the spa and a club evening.

Carolyn Odon, Marilyn Roberts and Jewel Page held a pig picking April 3 at the Roberts home.

On March 20, Margaret Anderson and Cathy Price held a shower at the Anderson home in Mount Olive.

Co-workers held a dinner March 18 at Gerogio’s Restaurant of Wilmington.
