NEW BERN — Brandy ReNee’ Pate became the wife of Kenneth Earl Causey of Goldsboro June 5 at 4:30 p.m.

Pastor Gary Bailey officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Sheraton Grand.

Parents of the bride are ReNee’ Ellis Pate and Mr. and Mrs. Randy Pate of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ellis and Neta Pate of Goldsboro and the late Charles Pate.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Causey of Tabor City. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Small of Tabor City and the late Mr. and Mrs. Austin Causey of Loris, S.C.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a white gown of matte satin with a bateau neckline. The sleeveless bodice was embellished with beaded crystals and re-embroidered lace accented with an asymmetrical waistline. The back bodice had a V-back. The A-line skirt was beaded with re-embroidered lace and crystals and cascaded into a chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of rhinestone and pearls that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion adorned with touches of stardust crystal. She carried a clutch bouquet of calla lilies and roses.

Olivia Culbreth, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Kimberly Causey, sister of the groom; Pamela Pate, sister-in-law of the bride; and Amanda Cummings, Hayley Ginn, Meredith Karcher and Jennifer Watters, friends of the bride.

Louis Causey was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Justin Cox, Adam Jones, Scott Mincey and Adam Smith, friends of the groom, and Jami Pate, brother of the bride.

Savannah Pate, sister of the bride, was the miniature bride. Landon Pate, brother of the bride, was the miniature groom.

Christian Pate, brother of the bride, was the junior groomsman.

Robby Wright was the honorary groomsman.

Logan Matthews, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Joshua Ellis, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.

Dawn Gardner directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Brandi Matthews. Barbara Matthews distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Rex Pennington and Meredith Karcher, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in Goldsboro.

The bride is a 1998 North Carolina scholar and graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School, a 2000 graduate of Wayne Community College with an associate’s degree in art and a 2002 cum laude graduate of East Carolina University with a bachelor of science degree and a 2004 graduate with an elementary education license. She is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is employed as a teacher with Wayne County Public Schools.

The groom graduated from South Columbus High School with honors in 1996 and Southeastern Community College in 1999 with an associate’s degree in arts. He attended East Carolina University. He is employed as director with WITN TV 7.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception were held at Sheraton Grand. Hillary Beamon and Jayna Beamon were gift attendants. Billie Jean Ellis served the wedding cake. Mr. and Mrs. LaVon Matthews and Mr. and Mrs. Shafton Hewett greeted guests.

On June 4, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Sheraton Grand. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Friends and family held a miscellaneous shower April 24 at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church.

On April 18, Pamela Pate and Billie Jean Ellis, aunt of the bride, held a lingerie shower at the Pate home.

Meredith Karcher, friend of the bride, and family held a lawn and garden shower April 17 at the Karcher home.

On March 18, Todd House and family of the groom held a miscellaneous shower in Tabor City.

Amanda Cummings and Becky Mozingo, friend of the bride, held a Christmas shower at the Cummings home.
