Wilmington — Lori Nicole Worley became the bride of Dennis Daniel Medeiros III May 1 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Robert Bawman officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Worley and Mr. and Mrs. John Hall of Goldsboro are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James “Blackie” Martin, Clarissa Worley and the late Leslie Worley of Princeton.

Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Medeiros Jr. of Goldsboro are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of Louise Hebert, the late William Hebert and the late Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Medeiros Sr. of Rhode Island.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white satin gown accented with a pleated bodice and a v-shaped plunging back. The back had a pinch pleat A-line skirt adorned with a jeweled flower clip that flowed into a semi-cathedral train. She also wore a diamond pendant necklace given to her by the groom.

For her headpiece, she chose a single-tiered cathedral-length veil of silk illusion. She carried a bouquet of white tulips and roses hand tied with white satin ribbon.

Lisa Gunn, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Jennifer Walmsley, friend of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Prentis Mauldin and Stacy Richards, friends of the bride.

Shawn Corbett was his friend’s best man. Groomsmen were Jason Medeiros, brother of the groom, and Dan Beach and Gill Bovard, friends of the groom. Ushers were Mike Murphy, Kyle Ode and Judd Sutton, friends of the couple.

Madison Gunn, niece of the bride, was flower girl. She was escorted by Matthew Gunn, brother-in-law of the bride.

Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Laurie Gruber, friend of the bride.

A program of wedding music was provided by Greg Gore, organist.

After a wedding trip to the Mayan Riviera, Mexico, the couple is residing in Wilmington.

The bride is a graduate of Rosewood High School and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a bachelor of science degree in biology and nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse with the coronary care unit of New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High school. He is employed as an operations technician with North Carolina Natural Gas.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Louise Cameron Art Museum.

On April 17, Hazel Martin, grandmother of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at the Royal Tea Rooms.

A bridal shower was held Feb. 29 at the home of Matthew and Lisa Gunn, brother-in-law and sister of the bride.

On Feb. 27, the bridesmaids held a bachelorette dinner and lingerie shower at the Hilton of Wilmington.

A bachelorette weekend was held in New York City in February.

On Jan. 21, Shawn Corbett held an engagement party at Parsley Woods Club House of Wilmington.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at Elijah’s Riverfront Restaurant.
