WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH — Christy Amanda Eason of Goldsboro and Christopher J. Cwiakala of Pikeville were united in holy matrimony May 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Penelope Morningstar officiated at the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Sandra F. Reeves of Goldsboro and Norwood Eason of Carolina Beach. She is the granddaughter of the late Raymond Reeves and Cleo Reeves of Goldsboro and the late Woodrow and Ann Eason of Dudley.

The groom is the son of David W. and Brenda Cwiakala of Goldsboro. He is the grandson of the late Don Morton, Norma Morton, the late Walter Cwiakala and Florence Cwiakala of Michigan.

Given in marriage by her family and escorted by her brother, Todd Eason, the bride wore a gown of white chiffon. The fitted bodice had spaghetti straps and Venise lace appliqués with silk flowers, pearls and iridescents. The floor-length skirt cascaded into a chapel train.

For her headpiece, she chose an elbow-length, ribbon edged veil that flowed from a band of crocheted flowers, pearls and iridescents. She carried a garden clutch bouquet of purple stock and orange lilies accented with caspia and golden rod finished with greenery.

Holly Hansen of LaGrange, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Heather Cwiakala of Greenville, sister of the groom, and Ginger Waller of Mount Olive, Sherell Ham of LaGrange, Beth Steelman of Wilmington and Amanda Evans and Jennifer Scott of Goldsboro, friends of the bride.

David W. Cwiakala was his son’s best man. Ushers were Todd Eason of Wilmington, brother of the bride, and Neal Jones of Goldsboro, Keith Waller of Mount Olive, Robbie Radford of Pikeville and Todd Mewborn of LaGrange, friends of the groom.

Ivey Wade of Goldsboro, daughter of the bride, was flower girl.

Megan Rose of Goldsboro, friend of the bride, directed the ceremony.

A program of wedding music was provided by the Wilmington Academy of Music, violinists.

After a wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple will reside in Pikeville.

The bride is employed as an office manager with Down East Furniture.

The groom is employed as a route salesman with Institution Foodhouse.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s mother held a reception at the home of Clip and Debbie Davis, uncle and aunt of the bride. Matt and Kelli Davis and Brian Davis of Wilmington, cousins of the bride.

On May 21, the groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner in Wrightsville Beach.

Friends held a bachelor weekend May 14 through 16 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Mark and Holly Hansen, Keith and Ginger Waller and Amanda Evans, friends of the couple, held a cookout and couple’s shower May 8.

Megan Rose, friend of the bride, held a couple’s shower April 17 at the home of Cleo Reeves, grandmother of the bride.

On April 3, Mary Agnes Rose, friend of the bride, held a bridesmaids’ luncheon at Walnut Creek Country Club.

Beth Steelman held a shower and luncheon March 27 in Wilmington.

On March 13, friends of the couple held an engagement party at Southern Wayne Country Club.
