Amy Nicole Stallings and Garey Eugene Lancaster Jr. exchanged vows April 17 at 2 p.m.

Pastor David Jackson and Pastor Ira Williford officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Freedom Baptist Church.

Jimmy and Kay Stallings of Fremont are parents of the bride. She is the granddaughter of Kathleen Hinson of Fremont, Pat Coley of Statonsburg, the late James Hinson, the late Hugh Coley and the late Theron Stallings.

The groom is the son of Garey and Kathy Lancaster of Havelock. He is the grandson of Eartis and Billie Jean Lancaster of Robertsdale, Ala., and Gene and Loretta Shoemaker of Foley, Ala.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin with a square neckline edged with pearls and crystals. The sleeveless bodice was enhanced with an empire waist beaded with pearls, crystals and rhinestones. An A-line skirt was beaded with pearls and sequins and cascaded throughout the train.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of pearls and crystals that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion fashioned with a penciled edge adorned with scattered pearls accenting the cathedral veil. She carried a bouquet of white roses accented with strings of pearls.

Shamra Lancaster of Pikeville, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Michelle Stallings of Fremont, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Natalie Garris of LaGrange and Tara Rogers and Katina Davis of Goldsboro, friends of the bride; Megan Lancaster of Fremont, cousin of the bride; and Allison Deickman of Havelock, sister of the groom.

Garey Lancaster was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Jesse Deickman of Havelock, brother-in-law of the groom; T.J. Lancaster of Fremont, cousin of the bride; and Jason Houston of Jacksonville, Neill Robins of Raleigh, Paul Cuthrell of Delaware and Wesley Bynum of Virginia, friends of the groom.

Brianna Lancaster of Havelock, niece of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid.

Jordan Anderson of LaGrange was flower girl.

Darilyn Lancaster of Fremont, cousin of the bride, was the miniature bride. Jaxon Anderson of LaGrange was the miniature groom.

Lori Lancaster of Fremont, aunt of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Shshauna Smith of Dudley, friend of the couple. Tracy Owens of Fremont, friend of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Mark Stocks, pianist; Durrell Coley, guitarist; Richard Crunkleton, trumpeter; and Lori Herring, Michelle Stallings and Mark Stocks, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Panama City, Fla., the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Charles B. Aycock High School. She is employed as a member services representative at the State Employees’ Credit Union.

The groom graduated from New Bern High School in 1996 and North Carolina State University in 2001 with a degree in economics. He is employed as a loan officer with the State Employees’ Credit Union.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at United In Christ Church. Jim and Susie Teachey, friends of the bride, greeted guests. Mark Stocks, friend of the bride, announced the wedding party.

On April 16, the couple’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at United In Christ Church. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

The bride’s mother held a bridal luncheon April 10 at Diane’s Cafe.

On April 1, co-workers of the groom held a miscellaneous shower at the State Employees’ Credit Union.

Members of Freedom Baptist Church held a miscellaneous shower March 21 at the church.

On March 12, co-workers of the bride held a party at the State Employees’ Credit Union.

Kathleen Hinson, grandmother of the bride, and Lori Lancaster and Agatha Williams, aunts of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower March 7 at Faro Chapel.

On March 5, Shamra Lancaster and Joan Davis, friends of the bride, and Michelle Stallings, sister of the bride, held a lingerie shower at the Lancaster home.

Family and friends held a miscellaneous shower Feb. 22 at United In Christ Church.
