MOUNT OLIVE — Frances Darlene Barefoot and Michael Anthony Price of Pikeville exchanged promises April 10 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Michael Hamm officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are Louise J. Barefoot of Mount Olive and the late John C. Barefoot. She is the granddaughter of the late Rance and Frances Jackson, Inez Barefoot of Four Oaks and the late Eugene Barefoot.

Parents of the groom are Malcolm and Carol Price of Seven Springs. He is the grandson of the late Wilber Daly, Annie Brown Daly, the late Pinkney Price and the late Lyvonne Price.

Presented in marriage by her mother and brother and escorted by her brother, Chris Barefoot, the bride wore an A-line gown of Italian satin with an organza overlay. The halter V-neckline was embroidered with Venise lace adorned with bugle bead and seed pearls. Matching beaded lace designs covered panels along the back and hemline of the chapel-length train.

For her headpiece, she chose a two-tiered fingertip veil of silk illusion trimmed in satin cording attached to a tiara covered with seed pearls and iridescent sequins. She carried a semi-cascading white bouquet of roses, lisianthus, stock and freesia.

Lynne Kirkland Smith of Beautancus, friend of the bride, was matron of honor. Jennifer Ricks of Mount Olive, friend of the couple, was the bridesmaid.

Malcolm Price was his son’s best man. Brent Gurganious of Newton Grove, friend of the couple, was the groomsman. Ushers were Scott Bircher of Cove City, Marty Gurganus of Pikeville and Michael Parks of Mannsville, N.Y., friends of the groom; Brian Eberwein of Clayton, brother-in-law of the groom; Graham Price of Seven Springs, brother of the groom; and Al Yelverton of Eureka, friend of the couple.

Rhonda S. Bass, friend of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Hayley Price Eberwein of Clayton, sister of the groom. Will Eberwein of Clayton, nephew of the groom, distributed programs.

Debbie Jordan, friend of the bride, was a special helper.

A program of wedding music was provided by Richie Brady, pianist; Christopher Sykes, organist; and Walton and Robin Aycock, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Charleston, S.C., the couple will reside in Pikeville.

The bride is a graduate of North Duplin High School and East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree. She is employed as an educator with Duplin County Schools.

The groom graduated from Eastern Wayne High School, Mount Olive College with an associate’s degree, Barton College with a bachelor’s degree and East Carolina University with a master’s degree in school administration. He is employed as an educator with Johnston County Schools.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at New Hope Friends Church family life center. Jeffrey and Heather Stroud of Benson and Allen and Jean Sills of Pikeville greeted guests. Sandra Head and Jo Ann Williams, friends of the bride, served the wedding cake. Kay Harrell and Dianne Sconce, friends of the groom, poured punch. Hannah Smith and Noel Smith distributed flower petals.

On March 27, Glenda Stroud, aunt of the groom, and Heather Stroud, Tiffany Stroud, Carolyn Grady, Kelly Grady and Linda Sutton held a bridal brunch at the home of R.D. and Glenda Stroud.

Sandra Head, Jennifer Ricks and Lynne K. Smith, friends of the bride, held a lingerie shower March 19 at Nino’s.

On March 14, a wedding shower was held at New Hope Friends Church.

Judy Jackson and Kathy Nelson, aunts of the groom, and Hayley P. Eberwein, sister of the groom, held a miscellaneous shower March 7 at the Jackson home.

On Feb. 29, a miscellaneous shower was held at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride’s mother held a bridal luncheon Feb. 7 at the Royal Tea Rooms.

Millie Adams and Cathy Fonvielle, co-workers of the groom, held a miscellaneous shower at Hampton Inn of Chapel Hill.
