MOUNT OLIVE — Stephanie Nicole Hill of Mount Olive became the bride of Henry Travis Cherry Jr. March 20 at 3 p.m.

Mickey Whitfield officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Durwood Dean and Becky Long Grady of Mount Olive and Allen Eugene and Karen Hill of Houghton, La. She is the granddaughter of Robert Charles and Sarah Smith Long of Kinston, Doris Polly Grady and Ronald E. and Nasha Hill of Goldsboro and the late William Durwood Rady.

The groom is the son of Henry Travis and Jo Ann Brock Cherry of Mount Olive. He is the grandson of the late William Henry Woodrow and Sally Louis Brock Cherry and Raymond Ellis and Daisy Lane Brock of Mount Olive.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white gown with a portrait neckline, re-embroidered lace on the yoke and waist and a pleated skirt with lace clusters on a detachable cathedral train.

For her headpiece, she chose a silver crescent with rhinestone and pearl flowers attached to a two-tiered elbow-length veil. She carried lavender roses with baby’s breath and purple rhinestones.

Sarah Hill Lanier, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. Patricia Cherry Strickland, sister of the groom, was the bridesmaid.

Henry Travis Cherry Sr. was his son’s best man. Ushers were Larry Ray Strickland II, brother-in-law of the groom, and William Shane Grady, brother of the bride.

Rebecca Ann Strickland, niece, was flower girl. Jeffrey Chase Kearney, nephew, was ring bearer.

Kresant Kelly directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Jennifer Susan Heath.

A program of wedding music was provided by Cathy Rouse, pianist.

After a wedding trip to Wilmington, the couple is residing in Mount Olive.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She attended Lenoir Community College and James Sprunt Community College. She is employed as keyholder and sales associate with Hi-Lites.

The groom graduated from home school in 2001. He is employed in ground maintenance with Georgia Pacific.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Bonnie Heath and Emily Sugg, aunts of the bride, and Beth Thomas, were servers.

The groom’s family held a rehearsal dinner March 19 in Rooty Branch Church fellowship hall.

On March 13, Sarah Lanier held a lingerie shower at Texas Steakhouse.

Tammy Willoughby held a body shop spa party March 7.

On Feb. 21, Jo Ann Cherry, Patricia Strickland and Becky Grady held a bridal shower at Rooty Branch Church fellowship hall.

The ladies auxiliary of Rooty Branch Church held a bridal shower Jan. 17.
