CLINTON — Natalie Kay Strickland and Chad Marcus Blackmon pledged their wedding promises March 6 at 2:30 p.m.

Jonathan Hill officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The bride is the daughter of Dannie and Vicky Strickland of Clinton. She is the granddaughter of Gene and Ada Jones of Dudley, Eula Mattocks of Clinton, the late Gene Paul Mattocks and the late Norwood Strickland and the great-granddaughter of the late Rossie Mattocks.

Parents of the groom are James and Brenda Blackmon of Clinton . He is the grandson of Nellie Coats of Willow Springs, the late James and Marie Blackmon and the late James B. Coats.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless white gown. The bodice was embellished with pearls down to a scalloped waistline. The chapel-length train was scalloped and trimmed with lace. She also wore a three-stranded pearl choker.

For her headpiece, she chose a shoulder-length veil of white tulle adorned with crystal embellishment. She carried a cascading bouquet of stargazer lilies.

Sara Blackmon Hill was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kelly Powell, cousin of the bride, and Karen Simmons, Erica Jones and Ashley Faircloth, friends of the bride.

James Blackmon was his son’s best man. Groomsmen were Steven Blackmon and Brian Blackmon, brothers of the groom; Clark Strickland, brother of the bride; and Chris Hall, friend of the groom.

Honorary bridesmaids were Jessica Mattocks and Leslie Mattocks of Wilmington and Brittni Mattocks and Holli Mattocks of Wilson, cousins of the bride.

Madison Dixon was flower girl. Joshua Mattocks was ring bearer.

Lorrie Wilson and DeeDee Henry directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Lori Blackmon. Dana and Ross Dixon distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Sandra Daniels, pianist; Sara Hill and Jessica Mattocks, vocalists; and Terri Shaffer, trumpeter.

After a wedding trip to Florida, the couple is residing in Clinton.

The bride is a graduate of Clinton High School and Fayetteville State University with a bachelor of arts degree in sociology. She is employed by Mary Gran Nursing Center as a social worker.

The groom graduated from Clinton High School and Wake Technical Community College with an associate’s degree in surveying technology. He is employed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception in the church fellowship hall. A three-tiered wedding cake with four satellite cakes decorated with stargazer lilies was served.

On Feb. 29, the couple’s church family held a miscellaneous shower at Clinton Pentecostal Holiness Church fellowship hall.

The bridesmaids held a bachelorette/lingerie party Feb. 27 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

On Feb. 24, co-workers of the bride held a surprise shower.

Gail Gainey, Kelly Powell, Kathy Mitchell and Joy Dixon held a miscellaneous shower Feb. 22 at the Gainey home.

On Feb. 12, Mr. and Mrs. Street Richardson, friends of the groom’s parents, held a party at the Gray Fox.

The groom’s family held a miscellaneous shower Feb. 8 at the home of Casey Coats of Willow Springs.

On Jan. 24, Lorrie Wilson, Karen Simmons, Ashley Faircloth and Erica Jones held a bridal shower/luncheon at the Shield House.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner in the church fellowship hall.
