WILMINGTON — Erica Jill Davis of Wilmington and Van Wyke “Trey” Gunter III of Wilmington were united in holy matrimony March 13 at 4 p.m.

The Rev. Ernest T. Thompson III officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Presbyterian Church.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Lynwood Goff of Deep Run and Ricky Martin Davis of Pikeville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Davis of Pikeville, Mary Turner of Kinston and the late Hinton Turner.

Parents of the groom are Van Wyke II and Ruth Watson Gunter of Greensboro. He is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Van Wyke Gunter and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Vernon Watson.

The bride was given in marriage by her family and escorted by her father.

Jennifer Croom Taylor was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Scarlet Leight Monroe of Alpharetta, Ga., Kimberly Christine Paul of Wilmington and Carey Ledford Roberts of Belmont.

Van Wyke Gunter III was best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Michael Bogue of Beaufort and Joe Harbeson Harrington of Galloway, N.J., friends of the groom; Timothy Martin Davis of Fayetteville, brother of the bride; and Kevin Blake Gunter of Greensboro, brother of the groom.

Catherine Faver directed the ceremony.

Treffrey Clay and Stephanie Davis were greeters.

A program of wedding music was provided by Doug Leightenheimer, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Walton Aycock, vocalists.

After a wedding trip to Grenada, the couple is residing in Wilmington.

The bride is a graduate of Appalachian State University. She attends the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for a master’s degree in public administration. She was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She is employed as a fund development manager with Lower Cape Fear Hospice and LifeCareCe.

The groom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He is employed as a commercial loan officer with Central Carolina Bank.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents held a reception at the Surf Club of Wrightsville Beach.

On March 12, Robin Aycock and Ginny Smith, aunts of the bride, and Grace Davis, grandmother of the bride, held a bridal luncheon at the City Club of Wilmington.

Employees of Central Carolina Bank-Landfall Branch of Wilmington held a miscellaneous shower March 5.

On Feb. 28, Charles and Connie Smith, friends of the groom, held a cocktail party in Wilmington.

Nancy Campbell and Kimberly Paul, co-workers of the bride, held a miscellaneous shower Feb. 22 in Carolina Beach.

On Feb. 21, Ruth Croom and Sandy Godwin held a kitchen and linen shower in Kinston.

Ronnie and Belinda, uncle and aunt of the bride, held a Christmas shower Dec. 21 in Harrells.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner at the Oceanic of Wrightsville Beach.
