Mr. and Mrs. Sauls

FREMONT — Debra Louise Wells of Pikeville and Gregory William Sauls of Pikeville pledged their promises Jan. 24 at 2 p.m.

Elder D.B. Stokes and Elder John H. Hess officiated at the double-ring ceremony at Aycock’s Primitive Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Bobby and Debbie L. Britt of Kinston and Ronnie Wells of Goldsboro. She is the granddaughter of Louise Lancaster of Kinston, Ruth J. Pelt of Goldsboro, the late Cliton Lancaster and the late Harvey Wells.

William and Gray Sauls of Eureka are parents of the groom. He is the grandson of the late Redden B. and Selma W. Lancaster and the late C. Vernon and Julia P. Sauls.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents.

Robin J. Walker, friend of the bride, was matron of honor.

William V. Sauls was his son’s best man. Ushers were Bryant Sauls and Keith Sauls, brothers of the groom.

Kayla Sauls, niece of the groom, was miniature bride.

Presiding at the register and distributing programs was Teresa Sauls, sister-in-law of the groom.

A program of wedding music was provided by Jimmy Aycock, friend of the couple, organist; Miranda Sauls, niece of the groom, flutist; and Donna Sauls, sister-in-law of the groom, vocalist.

After a wedding cruise to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman Islands, Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico, the couple is residing in Pikeville.

The bride attends Mount Olive College for a bachelor of arts degree in psychology/human resources development. She is a member of Psi Chi National Honor society. She is employed as a rural mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service.

The groom graduated from Charles B. Aycock High School in 1989. He is employed in appliance repair at Crawford Furniture of Pikeville.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Linda Wise poured punch. Edith Head and Jean Bartlett cut the wedding cake.

The groom’s parents held a rehearsal dinner Jan. 23 at Griff’s Steakbarn of Wilson.

On Jan. 4, friends and relatives of the groom’s parents held a wedding shower.
