Lynna Mariee’ Powers became the wife of Robert Stephen Chauncey Jr. Jan. 10 at 5 p.m.

The Rev. Glenn Phillips officiated at the double-ring ceremony at First Baptist Church.

Parents of the bride are Mel and Linda Powers.

Mr. and Mrs. James Dobson are parents of the groom.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father and brother, John Davenport, the bride wore a formal gown of ivory satin with a sweetheart neckline accented with long tapered beaded sleeves. The fitted bodice was embellished with Schiffli lace, pearls and sequins and ended in a Basque waistline. The full skirt was adorned with beaded lace motifs scattered throughout the front of the gown. The back bodice had a V-back and closed with satin bridal buttons cascading into a cathedral train enhanced with an inset of Schiffli lace embellished with pearls and sequins.

For her headpiece, she chose a tiara of pearls and crystals that extended into a two-tiered veil of silk illusion.

Shannon Dempsey, daughter of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lauren Elizabeth Powers, daughter of the bride; Tanyau Benton and Stephanie Stafford, sisters of the bride; and Elaine Martin, friend of the bride.

Robert Stephen Chauncey III was his father’s best man. Groomsmen were Darrell Powers, nephew of the bride, and Glen Spencer, Charlie Wilder and Christopher Pearsall, friends.

Samantha Darling, daughter of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid.

Sara Darling, daughter of the bride, and Morgan Burchette, niece of the groom, were flower girls. Michael Powers, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

Gloria Simmons, friend of the bride, directed the ceremony. Presiding at the register was Donna Newell, friend of the bride. Letty Davenport and Jordan Stafford, nieces of the bride, distributed programs.

A program of wedding music was provided by Paul Cunningham, organist and pianist, and Allen O’Neal, vocalist.

After a wedding trip to the Smoky Mountains, the couple is residing in Goldsboro.

The bride is a graduate of Mount Olive College with degrees in computer business programming and business management. She is employed as a buyer/analyst at Waukesha Electric Systems.

The groom is employed with Glen Spencer Trucking of Wilmington.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church fellowship hall. Debbie Kennedy, friend of the bride, served the wedding cake. Kristi Waters, friend of the bride, poured punch.

On Jan. 9, a rehearsal dinner was held at Nino’s Restaurant. The couple chose this time to present gifts to their attendants.

Elaine Martin and Gloria Simmons, co-workers of the bride, held a miscellaneous bridal shower Jan. 4 at Waukesha Electric.
