WILSON --  Luke Frederick went 2 for 2 with four RBI, Zack Brewer scattered five hits over six innings and Charles B. Aycock hammered Faith Christian of Rocky Mount, 12-2, on Tuesday at the Golden Leaf Invitational.

The victory, coupled with a Fike loss to Cardinal Gibbons, resulted in CBA being crowned the event's champion.   

CBA (12-3 overall) was prolific from the outset, scoring three runs in the second frame and repeating the feat in the fourth, fifth and sixth stanzas.

Six players drove in runs for the Golden Falcons, including Tyrie Artis, Jordan Gay, Trey Smith, Nolan Harrell and Tyler Daniels.

Brewer was just as economical on the hill, striking out four and walking five in a 106 pitch outing.

Farmville Central 19,

Wayne Country Day 3

FARMVILLE --  Wayne Country Day dropped its final game in the Golden Leaf Invitational on Tuesday, falling in lopsided fashion to Farmville Central.

Tanner Willman and Avery Browning paced the Chargers (7-3) with a combined three RBI.

WCDS returns to action on Thursday at North Raleigh Christian.

First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Late Monday

Eastern Wayne 12,

South Lenoir 2

DUDLEY -- Will Uzzell, Jason Mitchell and Wesley Case provided two RBI apiece as Eastern Wayne shellacked South Lenoir, 12-2, on Monday.

The Warriors now stand 3-8 overall this season.

Jay Wiseman also factored prominently for Eastern Wayne, rapping out three hits and an RBI on the afternoon.

Landon Ginn, Ryan Sullivan and leadoff man Colby Miller rounded out the onslaught, combining for three hits and as many RBI.

Sullivan also earned the victory for the Warriors, allowing just two runs on four hits over six innings.

He also struck out five.

North Lenoir 8,

Southern Wayne 5

DUDLEY -- Kolby Anderson and Josh Grady tallied two RBI apiece, but it wasn't enough to power Southern Wayne past North Lenoir on Monday.

The 8-5 setback moved Southern Wayne to 6-4 overall this season.

Dylan Whitley also performed ably for the Saints, finishing 2 for 4 with an RBI.
