Channing Williams scored a game-high 20 points to lead Eastern Wayne past Southern Wayne, 60-47, during opening-round play of the ECC 3A basketball tournament on Tuesday.
Ziomara Williams complemented the senior's stellar effort with 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Nyesha and Myesha Best finished with nine points apiece.
Machiah Moore and Erykah Baldwin paced the Lady Saints with 14 points apiece.
Eastern Wayne (18-5) will face the winner of D.H. Conley and J.H. Rose tonight at South Central High School.
Southern Wayne finished its season with an overall mark of 6-15.
