Sophomore guard David Brewer scored 21 points on Friday, but it wasn't enough to pace Southern Wayne past ECC 3A and county rival Eastern Wayne.
Brewer enjoyed an economical evening from the floor, going 9 for 15 overall and connecting on a pair of shots from distance.
Wilcliff Senatus also played well for the Saints, booking 12 points. Junior guard Deandre Wright scored nine points, while Antonio Broadie finished with five points.
The victory pushed Eastern Wayne to 6-11 overall this season, and 2-4 in league play.
Southern Wayne now stands 3-13 overall, and 2-3 in ECC matchups.
