Indoor Track --CBA fares well in Greenville

GREENVILLE -- Abbigail Shackleford of Charles B. Aycock placed fourth overall in the 1000M run on Thursday at the ECC Indoor Track meet, finishing with a time of 4:36.41.
The event, hosted by J.H. Rose High School, also fielded teams from Kinston, Nash Central, Southern Wayne and Eastern Wayne.
Randall Hobday also enjoyed a fine afternoon for the Blues, finishing third in the 3,200M run with a time of 12:23.
Arlanda Faulkner placed first in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 2 inches, and followed that effort with a first-place distance of 33 feet, 1 inch in the triple-jump. She also prevailed in the 55M hurdles, finishing with a time of 8.73 seconds.
Marquard Fedderson placed third in the long jump with a distance of 15 feet, 7 inches.
Area distance specialist DeShawn Owens finished first in the 1,000M run, logging a personal-best time of 2:46.89 -- a new school record.
CBA's 4x400 relay team of Tyler Lane, Christopher Crow, Jamar Best and Mason Bailey finished third overall with time of 4:27.
On the girls' side, the CBA collective of Abbigail Shackleford, Alana Reeves, Dymond Floyd and Denai Watkins placed third in the 4x200 relay, recording a time of 2:15.30.
Jacqueline Woods joined Shackleford, Reeves and Floyd for second place in the 4x800 relay, finishing with a time fo 13:37.57.
