Cross Country --Clinton High sweeps East Central 2-A meet

Clinton swept the East Central 2-A conference meet on Tuesday at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park.
The Dark Horses finished first in the boys' division with a total of 16 points. East Duplin was second with 52 points, followed by Spring Creek (79), Midway (97) and Goldsboro (138).
Tahj Edwards and Joshua Beckerman ran well for the Gators, crossing the tape in 18:21 and 18:40, respectively.
Jyrei Thompson of GHS also performed ably, filing an 11th-place time of 18:41.
Clinton compiled 22 points to rule the girls' division, trailed by Midway (53), East Duplin (74), Goldsboro (110) and Spring Creek (115).
Landry Harrell of Goldsboro High School was Wayne County's top finisher, medaling with a time of 23:30.
