JV Football --Rosewood, Goldsboro suffer losses

Rosewood nearly pulled off a rally for the ages on Thursday, climbing back from a 26-point halftime deficit to fall just short versus Carolina 1-A foe Lakewood.

Davian Thompson led the effort, scoring on a reverse and also hauling in two touchdown passes from quarterback Will Harris that covered 67 yards.

Avante George also added a touchdown run of 20 yards.

Defensively, the purple-and-gold's second-half shutout was anchored by Tyshon McCoy, who filed 15 total tackles on the evening.
