GREENVILLE -- Shawntwon Leach rushed for 197 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to propel Southern Wayne past a diverse J.H. Rose outfit on Friday.
Quarterback Tashawn Philips completed 6 of 14 passed for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Demetriuc Wright rushed the luggage 10 times for 31 yards.
Wright also caught a touchdown.
"We played a tough, good J.H. Rose team and the score just didn't go our way," head coach Ronnie McClary Jr. said. "We'll learn from it and try to keep our guys healthy as we prepare for another county rival in CBA."
Southern Wayne remains winless on the season.
