Haggerty-Rouse claim conference title, Bowen finishes third

Spring Creek's Amanda Haggerty and Ivey Rouse barnstormed Wallace-Rose Hill and East Duplin on Tuesday, 10-1, 10-1 and 10-2 to capture the East Central 2-A doubles title and a earn a trip to next week's East Regional in Snow Hill.
The victory capped a splendid fall for the duo, who went 7-1 on the season.
"They play very well together and play in sync," head coach Donna Haggerty said. "They instinctively know what the other is thinking and move on the court accordingly... they are looking forward to their second regionals appearance next Friday."
Savanna Willis, Daeja Hutcherson, Jordan Lane and Vanessa Southerland also competed for the Lady Gators.
EW's Bowen finishes third
GREENVILLE -- Eastern Wayne's Bella Bowen survived a humid afternoon to finish third at Tuesday's ECC 3-A/4-A conference tournament, qualifying in the process for next week's East Regional event at Barton College.
Bess Gibson, Emily Stratton, Maddie Agner, Amelia Dunmire and Ava Bowen also participated for the Lady Warriors.
