Soccer --WCDS, Southern Wayne collect shutouts; GHS falls to Kenan

Christ Covenant 0
The Chargers dominated on their senior night by ending their match against Christ covenant by mercy rule, 9-0.
Ben Cohen, Frank Best and Luis Lopez each had two goals a piece, while Marcus Metcalf, Caleb Brewer and Jack Talton each scored one.
Lopez also had an assist, while Marquise Newell, Bash Attiah and Colby Bowen had one assist each. Christian Garloch notched three assists during Tuesday's action.
SWHS 4,
South Central 0
The Saints won their match 4-0 Tuesday night, in a score that was carried mostly by penalty kicks. Luis Guzman scored one penalty kick, while Shyquell Kornegay scored two penalty kicks.
Wilmer Vanegas scored one to bring it to four for the men's squad.
This brings Southern Wayne's overall record to 5-8-2, and their conference record to 3-3-1.
James Kenan 9,
GHS 2
The Cougars fell by seven points to James Kenan, being beat out by nine goals to two.
Noah Gonzalez scored a goal for GHS, and Robert Pliler scored for the Cougars off of a penalty kick.
Goldsboro plays again tonight against East Duplin at home.
