Faith Christian lost to Hilltop Tuesday despite several scoring chances, compounded by an inability to clear the ball up the field during the match.
Karson Romito sent Faith Christian's only goal into the back of the net on a penalty kick.
"The team played well and our opponent was a good match for us, but ultimately they scored a few goals from our inability to clear the ball," said Faith Christian Coach Roy Schmidt.
Schmidt said good goalkeeping from Cooper Voeller kept the team in the mix for a long time.
"We failed to convert a penalty kick shortly after halftime that would have evened the score at 1-1," Schmidt said. "But it was a great save by their goalie."
