MOUNT OLIVE -- Tanner Bradley tossed a complete-game four-hitter as Wayne County Post 11 extended its win streak to a season-high four games with an 11-1, mercy-rule conquest of Farmville on Thursday evening.

The right-handed Bradley retired the final nine batters he faced during the seven-inning affair contested at Scarborough Field on the University of Mount Olive. He sat down six Farmville hitters on strikeouts and yielded a fourth-inning run. The Post 11 defense recorded its first error-free effort of the season.

WC swept the two-game series.

Tanner Wells mashed his team-leading fourth home run of the season, drew a walk and scored two runs. Nolan Harrell (RBI), Derek Neal (two RBI), Kolby Harris (two RBI) and Kolby Anderson (RBI) provided one hit apiece.

The teams were scoreless through three innings before Farmville took the lead in the fourth.

Post 11 answered with a three-run outburst started by Wells' fence-clearing shot at the usually-friendly pitcher's park. Harrell and Neal also scored after each reached base on a walk.

Wayne County (9-6 overall) pushed across seven runs in the fifth, highlighted by Harrell's run-scoring single and Neal's two-RBI base knock.

Anderson envoked the mercy rule with a one-out, RBI walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh.

Post 11 traveled to Ahoskie for a doubleheader on Saturday. The team returns home Monday for a battle against Edenton Post 40. First pitch is 7 p.m. at UMO.
