PREP GOLF: Klages, Kimble complete respective seasons

PINEHURST -- The 2017 N.C. High School Athletic Association boys' golf championships, which played host to a pair of Wayne County juniors, came to an official close on Tuesday.
Cameron Klages of Rosewood High, competing at the famed Country Club of Whispering Pines, carded an 87 on the final day, giving him a 36-hole total of 172 -- good enough for a share of 37th place.
It was his second straight appeareance at the 1-A state tourney.
In the 2-A ranks, Ryan Kimble of Goldsboro recorded rounds of 96 and 95 at Beacon Ridge Country Club to book a 191 total and finish in 75th place.
