HIGH POINT -- University of Mount Olive captured five top all-Conference Carolinas individual awards after winning the men's and women's outdoor track & field championship meets contested less than a week ago.

Freshman Leah Hanle earned the Conference Carolinas' women's track athlete-of-the-year award. The Germany native tallied 26 total points in the season-ending meet -- first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and second-place performances in the 5,000 (5k) and 10,000 (10k) meter runs.

The Trojans' Nick Greyno and Hannah Glover swept the male and female athletes-of-the-year honors.

Greyno, a senior who hails from Wilmington, emerged as a Conference Carolinas champion in the discus. He finished runner-up in the hammer throw and shot put, and secured third place overall in the javelin.

A sophomore, Glover grabbed conference titles in the hammer and discus, and ended up seventh in the javelin.

Taylor Moncrief was selected as the Conference Carolinas female freshman athlete-of-the-year following a fourth-place performance in the 100 hurdles and second-team all-CC honors in the triple jump.

Matt van Lierop, director and head coach of the men's and women's track programs, returned home with the dubious honor as the league's coach-of-the-year.
